SHINER, Texas – Today, the independent, family-owned K. Spoetzl Brewery announces a landmark addition to its 116-year legacy: Shiner Bock Non-Alcoholic. This historic new release is inspired by the original Shiner Bock, the No. 1 craft beer in Texas and the No. 1 bock beer in the United States.
Building on the success of Shiner's Rodeo non-alcoholic line, which launched in 2023, Shiner is now bringing its flagship Shiner Bock expression into the fast-growing non-alcoholic space. Shiner Bock Non-Alcoholic offers the smooth, full flavor fans know and love.
This easy-drinking, non-alcoholic amber brew blends roasted barley malt, German specialty hops, and artesian well water. At <0.5% ABV, Shiner Bock Non-Alcoholic delivers a smooth, balanced taste with a crisp, refreshing finish. Each brew offers familiar aromas of toasted malt and caramel and pours in the same warm, deep amber hue as the original. This lightly hopped American-style amber brew pairs beautifully with Texas staples like smoky brisket, grilled sausage, and mole enchiladas.
"We are seeing a generational shift in how people enjoy beer," said Nick Weiland, Brand Director at Shiner Beer. "Shiner Bock has been a legendary Texas favorite since it debuted in 1913. With Shiner Bock Non-Alcoholic, long-time fans and new drinkers alike can enjoy the ritual of an ice-cold Shiner, regardless of alcohol content."
Shiner Bock Non-Alcoholic will begin to hit shelves at retailers across the U.S. in January. It comes in 12-oz cans, packed in 6-packs. The packaging retains the signature yellow look and iconic Shiner Ram, now with a distinct blue and silver 'Non-Alcoholic' banner to clearly distinguish it on shelves.
About Shiner, the K. Spoetzl Brewery, and the K. Spoetzl Distillery: The K. Spoetzl Brewery was founded in Shiner, Texas (population 2,127), in 1909, by Czech and German immigrants brewing beer with old-world traditions and recipes for South Central Texas. Since then, the brewery has grown to be one of the largest independent craft brewers in the country with beers available in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and U.S. military bases around the world. In 2023, the Spoetzl Brewery expanded to include the K. Spoetzl Distillery with its line of Shiner Texas Spirits. To this day, every drop of the award-winning beer is brewed right in Shiner, TX, where it all started 116 years ago.
