Truth or Consequences Brewing Company Unleashes “La Bête” — a 16% Saison Years in the Making

Truth or Consequences, New Mexico — Truth or Consequences Brewing Company is proud to announce the release of La Bête (“The Beast”), an Imperial Brut Saison that pushes the boundaries of craft brewing with ferocious strength and champagne-like elegance.

“This beer began as a challenge from my wife, Marianne,” says John Masterson, who co-founded the brewery with her in 2016. “Since we opened, she’s asked for something stronger than wine, yet elegant and light as a feather. That’s not an easy thing to achieve with a typical malt fermentation.”

To meet the challenge, Masterson employed a variety of techniques and ingredients, coaxing new levels of dryness and delicacy from a 16% beer. The result is a rare beast indeed—powerful yet refined, complex, golden, and refreshingly dry.

The name—French for The Beast—captures both sides of its nature: strength and grace, intensity and elegance.

Timed to coincide with Marianne’s birthday, Masterson calls La Bête “a liquid love letter.”

La Bête debuts October 8 at the brewery’s headquarters in Truth or Consequences and at their Taproom & Patio in Las Cruces. Limited holiday gift bottles will be available beginning in mid-November.
