Lost Marble Brewing Breaks Ground in Manchester, VT

MANCHESTER, VERMONT --- A local partnership has broken ground on a new brewery and taproom on Rt. 7A in Manchester, adjacent to the Hampton Inn & Suites hotel.  The Lost Marble Brewing Company will serve as a new destination for local residents and visitors, providing a convenient and fun place to gather for freshly brewed beer and a locally inspired family-friendly menu.

Opening Fall 2025, the 9,725 square foot facility will include a 2,500 sq ft brewing room, housing a state-of-the-art 10-barrel brewing system, as well as a commercial kitchen and pizza oven.  Guests can enjoy freshly brewed beer in the 3,500 sq ft taproom, spacious south patio and outdoor bar, and north terrace and lawn.  A private mezzanine space overlooking the brewing room will also be available.

Understanding that Vermont is known for its award-winning beer and breweries, the team at Lost Marble are intent on creating great beers.  According to Kevin Mullaney, one of the principals, “Vermont is in the ‘big leagues’ of beer creation, so we have spent a considerable amount of time and effort assembling an experienced team to help create a range of unique hand-crafted beers that Manchester, and Vermont will be proud of.”

The owners teamed up with Mike Gerhart of First Key Consulting.  Mike, former head brewmaster at Otter Creek Brewing, and most recently Chief Operating Officer at Vermont’s esteemed Hill Farmstead Brewery, is designing the brewing operation and helping assemble a world-class brewing team. 

The taproom menu will consist of house-made staples like soft pretzels, wood-fired gourmet pizza, an amazing ‘Lost Burger,’ and other tap room favorites.  Lost Marble will partner with local agribusinesses to promote sustainability and will showcase local ingredients.

The name Lost Marble is inspired by the marble industry that Manchester and the surrounding areas were known for in the late 1800s to early 1900s.  The brewery, designed by Kirk Moore of BMA Architects & Planners, was inspired by an old Manchester marble mill.  Reminders of the “lost marble” industry can be found throughout Manchester, including marble remnants used in area sidewalks, foundations, and bridges throughout the Town, paying homage to its history.

The new brewery is expected to create 20 new jobs in Manchester, along with supporting over 100 construction and service jobs in the region.
