CHARLOTTE, N.C., (Jan. 7, 2025) – Just in time for “Dry January,” Sycamore Brewing Company is releasing Non-Alcoholic Southern Girl Blonde (.5% ABV). In addition, Numby Gummy IPA (7.3% ABV) is now available for a limited time. Sycamore Brewing is the number one independently owned craft brewery in North Carolina.

Non-Alcoholic Southern Girl Blonde

Southern Girl Blonde is one of Sycamore’s OG beers and it is now reimagined without alcohol. Inspired by the original, the NA version of Southern Girl is designed with an emphasis on malt flavor, utilizing high quality English malts and an English yeast strain that accentuates malt flavor. The emphasis on malt flavor translates perfectly when alcohol is removed from the sensory equation – instead of tasting watery or lifeless, the inherent strong malt characteristics shine through in the finished NA beer.

Sycamore’s NA offering is light-bodied, crisp, dry with some sweetness. Flavor notes are bready up front, followed by cereal notes in the middle, followed by light caramel/honey notes. Light honeydew and strawberry hits toward the back end with a light lemon citrus finish.

NA Southern Girl Blonde is now available at the Sycamore taproom in the South End of Charlotte, N.C. and distribution is rolling out in the coming weeks in 6-packs, 12 oz. cans to all states where Sycamore beers are available.

Numby Gummy IPA

Numby Gummy IPA is inspired by both psychedelia and the fruity gummy snacks of our youth. The hazy IPA was created to pop off the new year with a bright, complex and bombastic beverage.

The brewers at Sycamore made some technical tweaks in the brewing processes in crafting this hazy IPA, aiming to unlock the latent fruit flavors in hops by optimizing the biochemical interplay between yeast and hop flavor compounds, a process called biotransformation. This involved a very intentional use and selection of hops at all stages, with carefully timed additions in the mash, boil, whirlpool and multiple dry hop additions with hop varieties possessing the right chemical makeup to drive potent biotransformation reactions.

All this brewing science led to a hazy, light golden beer with the flavors of a fruity explosions up front – blueberry and raspberry mixed with tropical candy, followed by a vibrant pop of citrus - grapefruit, tangerine, lemon pith and a pervading dankness.

“Numby Gummy will take your tastebuds on a trip through flavor town. Get ready for a sensory overload hitting a cornucopia of flavors all derived from a unique blend of hops,” said head brewer Brad Bergman.

Numby Gummy is available now in the taproom and available wherever Sycamore beer is sold in 16 oz cans – 4-packs.
