Portland, Maine – December 10, 2024 -- Award-winning Allagash of Portland, Maine, has earned a spot on Fast Company’s Brands that Matter for 2024–a coveted list that honors companies making a meaningful impact with their brands. Allagash was honored this year in the Enduring Impact category, recognizing brands that are "continuing to innovate and have kept consumers interested for more than 15 years.”

“We’re equally proud of our beer and our work with communities in Maine and beyond,” said Rob Tod, Founder, Allagash Brewing Company. “This year’s recognition feels especially significant as we approach our 30th anniversary in 2025. It speaks to our brewery’s continued relevance and impact. It’s another sign that giving back, standing by our core values, and taking a thoughtful approach to growth have been the right moves for us as a brewery.”

This has been a landmark year of awards for the B Corp-certified Allagash, as the beer brand has continued to earn accolades around the country, the world, and in their home state of Maine. Notable wins this year for their beer include:

  • Allagash White further cemented its status as the most awarded wheat beer in the world with its gold medal win at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF).
  • Allagash Tripel also earned a GABF Silver medal in the Belgian-style Abbey Ale category, as well as a World Beer Cup Silver, European Beer Star Bronze, and Brussels Beer Challenge Bronze—remarkably, it medaled in every competition into which it was entered.
  • On the homefront, Allagash took home two Best Brewery awards from local outlets Portland Old Port and Down East.

Additional awards recognize Allagash’s commitment to using beer as a force for good.

  • In 2024 the brewery was named one of Maine’s Best Places to Work for the 11th year in a row;
  • The brewery received a Bronze Anthem Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility category
  • The brewery received a 2024 Maine Children’s Alliance Giraffe Award in the Business category, which “honor[s] community heroes who ‘stick out their necks’ for Maine children.”

With more than 1,200 entries, choosing Brands That Matter honorees requires months of researching and vetting applications, and ultimately finding the best examples of what all brands should aspire to. Allagash was also named to the Fast Company Brands that Matter list in 2022 for their community-minded initiatives.

ABOUT BRANDS THAT MATTER

Fast Company’s Brands That Matter is the premier showcase for brands that excel in making emotional connections, communicating purpose, and maintaining cultural relevance. These brands stand out for their ability to resonate, transcending mere social engagement to establish genuine bonds. Brands That Matter honorees authentically reflect not just a mission, but a heart and soul that aligns with their customer values and aspirations.
