Kentucky® Pumpkin Barrel Ale Release

Let’s Give ‘Em Pumpkin To Talk About

Kentucky® Pumpkin Barrel Ale (10.0% abv) Limited Release Nationally

LEXINGTON, Ky., September 3, 2024— Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., the only brewery and distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, announces its latest beer release this week with nationwide availability for its Kentucky® Pumpkin Barrel Ale (SRP $16.99 / 4pk Bottles). This is a limited release beer.

Kentucky® Pumpkin Barrel Ale – 10.0% abv

A staple in the pumpkin beer community, Kentucky® Pumpkin Barrel Ale celebrates its 11th release this year. Originally introduced in 2013, this limited annual release continues to captivate audiences nationwide, with availability in over 41 states. Brewed and barrel-aged with a richly spiced pumpkin butter containing cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, this beer beautifully embodies the sensory experience of the changing seasons. The addition of freshly decanted Kentucky bourbon barrels enhances the beer’s ABV to 10% while maintaining its flavor profile without excessive sweetness, ensuring a thoughtfully balanced and refreshing pumpkin beer experience. Voted by USA Today Reader’s Choice as one of the Best Fall Seasonal Beers in 2024.

Let’s Give ‘Em Pumpkin To Talk About

The Commonwealth of Kentucky borders several Midwestern and Southeastern states, providing ideal access to a variety of agricultural products, including pumpkins, which are prominent in many of the neighboring Northern states. In true Lexington fashion, the brewery drew inspiration from local agriculture and incorporated pumpkin into a strong ale, eventually aging it in bourbon barrels. The addition of spices that complement both bourbon and pumpkin creates a perfect pairing.

This brand was destined to be created, and since its debut over a decade ago, the brewery has never looked back. The flavors of fall come to life as summer heat wanes and richer flavor profiles emerge in September, coinciding with Kentucky's National Bourbon Heritage Month. The annual release of Pumpkin Barrel Ale marks the beginning of Lexington’s month-long Bourbon Heritage Month celebration, highlighting the brewery’s unique status as the “Only Brewery and Distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.”
