The Nations Brewing in Nashville, TN is looking for a well-rounded, positive packaging technician to join our growing team!

 

Job Summary:

The Packaging Technician position is a full-time, hourly position that represents a multi-skilled brewery position responsible for assisting in the packaging operations. The functions of packaging tech will carry out operational and quality standards during all production, sanitation and safety procedures under little or no supervision in a timely manner and with acceptable quality. They will be responsible for working days, evenings and very limited weekends in the brewery as needed. The position will report directly to the Packaging Lead. The qualified employee must possess a minimum of the following listed skills, knowledge, and experience.


Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Manage time wisely to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

·     Participate in training procedures for brewing staff.

·     Update and report on inventory and quality management of raw materials and chemicals.

·     Keep accurate daily production records per company and Federal Requirements.

·     Complete scheduled tasks following company standard operating procedures and guidelines (SOP/SOG)

·     Assist management in the creation/maintenance of SOP/GMP

·     Follow all safety procedures and sanitary processes.

·     Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.

·     Periodic handling of hazardous chemicals using appropriate PPE

·     Continually assist in maintaining all beer production areas, including equipment – (mill room, brewhouse, fermentation, filtration, bulk grain, spent grain area, and all walkways and driveways).

·     Tasks include but are not limited to daily tank monitoring, tank/line cleaning, transferring/filtering/centrifuging/carbonating beer, additions of fruit/hops/etc. to products.

·     Assist with equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs as directed.

·     Continue to expand brewing knowledge via books, articles, and technical seminars throughout employment.

·     Represent Nations Brewing Company and our family of brands at company events and beer festivals.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Education

·     Completion of an accredited brewing program, such as the Siebel Institute or the UC Davis Master Brewer’s Program is advantageous, but not required.

·     Knowledge of beer history, production, ingredients, and tasting.

 

Experience

·     1+ years in the brewing industry, or comparable schooling is advantageous, but not required.

·     Food/Beverage/Brewery Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)

·     Experience with heavy machinery, brewing, and laboratory equipment is advantageous


Skills

·     Organization, planning, and execution

·     Computer programs: Microsoft Office Suite

·     Autonomy, situational awareness, safety awareness, and problem-solving.

·     Physical ability (stand, lift, and work in harsh conditions, including the movement of an object weighing up to 150 pounds using proper techniques and equipment)

·     The ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude is required.

Job Type: Full-time / In-Person

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
