Sales Representative
Purpose:
The role of the Sales & Marketing Associate is to be the front line in providing industry leading service to Homegrown Distribution customers. The role will develop a high-end portfolio of alcoholic beverages with a primary focus on beer within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities:
o Maintain contact, communication, and relationships with customers (on and off-premise)
o Execute directed programming to help obtain distribution and volume goals
o Develop customers knowledge of HGD portfolio and maintain specified frequency call goal
o Utilize and maintain sales orders and data via route accounting software (Encompass)
o Help execute key tastings, wait staff trainings, promotions, and beer dinners
o Ensure proper merchandising of customers with paper and permanent point of sale as well as helping to stock HGD product on shelves and in coolers, building displays, etc
o Monitor beer code dates of beer in trade, ensure all product is rotated and fresh
o May be responsible for accounts receivable within assigned territory
o Act as a trusted business consultant to assigned customers
o Represent HGD and brewery partners within the local community in a responsible and charitable fashion
o Monthly administrative paperwork will be required
Skills and Experience:
o Previous sales experience, beer market knowledge a plus
o Attention to detail is a must
o Above average ability to problem-solve
o Excellent time management and organizational skills
o Competitive in nature, wants to win
o Confident and willing to question conventional wisdom
o Enjoy a very fast paced environment and adapt to change
o Strong team player able to work across multiple functions and disciplines
Qualifications:
o Valid and clean driver license
o Passionate about beer, Certified Cicerone preferred
o Willingness to work unconventional hours
o Ability to consume responsibly
o Must currently live in Massachusetts
