Catawba Brewing releases Small Batch collaboration dessert stout, now pouring in tasting rooms.

This unique collaboration beer was conceived in the build-up to Catawba's 20th anniversary celebration in July. The evening began as an advance preview of birthday beer releases for a group of Charlotte's leading food and beverage writers. Then with the help of some liquid inspiration, it evolved into a brainstorming session for a future Small Batch release. The beer name, Black Sheep, was chosen as a clever twist on the family reunion theme of the anniversary party. The beer itself is a tribute to creativity and new friends, as Catawba brewers embraced the challenge of translating the flavors of a particularly memorable piece of chocolate-maple-pecan pie into this new dessert stout.

Sensory: Dark chocolate, espresso, sweet maple cream, caramel, toasted nuts. Full-bodied and rich with a silky-smooth finish.

Fundraiser: $1 per pint will be donated to The Pisgah Conservancy for 4 weeks after the release!
