8 MORE BEERS OF WINTER RETURNS TO THE BLACK ABBEY BREWING COMPANY
Saturday February 3rd barrel-aged beers take over brewery tap room

NASHVILLE, TN. January 16, 2018 – The Black Abbey Brewing Company announced today that it will again host 8 More Beers of Winter, the brewery’s annual celebration of barrel-aged beer. This unique event features a rotating selection of Black Abbey beers that have been aged in barrels previously used for whiskey and other spirits.

“For this one day we replace our usual draft line up with all barrel-aged versions of our beers.” Brewery co-founder Carl Meier said. “It is our most popular event of the year.”

“This event is our chance to get creative and give Nashville a completely unique experience.” Said Meier.

8 More Beers of Winter continues thier partnership with Corsair Distillery for this years event. The Black Abbey used many Corsair barrels for beer-aging and have developed a number of collaborative beers with brewer Karen Lassiter at The Corsair Beer Lab.

“We at Corsair love collaborating with other evil geniuses like the good folks at Black Abbey. These kinds of creative collaborations are what makes what we do so much fun. It is our gasoline.” Said Darek Bell, Corsair Owner/Distiller.

Local food truck The Steaming Goat will be on hand selling custom steamed sandwiches and local DJ Craft Grooves will be handling the music for the event.

The Black Abbey Brewing Company’s 8 More Beers of Winter will take place at the brewery taproom (2952 Sidco Drive in the 100 Oaks area), known as Fellowship Hall, on Saturday February 3rd from 12-8pm. There is no charge for admittance. Pints and flights will be available. Growler fills will not be available during the event. There will be no brewery tours during the event.

There will be a special tapping of Lorica, a Black Abbey barrel-aged beer brewed in collaboration with Jameson’s Irish Whiskey, as well.
