Honor Flight 5K Run/Walk & Bock Fest @ NOON

NEVER FORGOTTEN HONOR FLIGHT:
Our veterans are an integral part of our society. It is in their honor that we invite you to help us support these courageous people. All proceeds for this event will be donated to the Never Forgotten Honor Flight. This organization is committed to fly our World War II, Korean, and Vietnam war veterans to Washington, D. C. to view their memorials at no cost to the veterans. The amount needed, per veteran sponsored, is $500. This trip is scheduled to take place in April. For more information about Honor Flight, please see their website–www.neverforgottenhonorflight.org. There will be additional opportunities to make donations throughout the afternoon. To date, this event has raised over $66,000, sending over 132 veterans! Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

RULES OF THE ROAD:
The entire race route is planned on OPEN city streets and crossings. Please run/walk in single file, except when passing. Participants must run or walk on the LEFT SIDE of the road; this is where mile markers at each mile will be located. Obey race officials and yield to emergency vehicles. THERE ARE SOME HILLS. Their difficulty should be based upon your experience and comfort level in running or walking. Any participant on the course after 1:30 pm will need to finish course route on their own, as all Event Staff will be back at the brewery enjoying the Bull Falls Bock Fest at that time. Again, Thank you!!

IT'S BAAACK...
The BOCK BUSTER race course is back. This is a run-only course, although we TOTALLY understand if you have to walk a few steps to get to the top of that first hill. We know, it's a killer. You will follow the run/walk course out of the lot to the north and turn right on McIntosh. Then head east up McIntosh 1.55 miles and come back the same way. There is a 45 mph section on the course, so keep your head up! We added this to challenge the runners in the group. Don't be afraid to give it a try. It’s tough, but just think how good the beer will taste when you’re done!

EVENT PERKS:
Back by popular demand hooded sweatshirts are guaranteed to everyone signed up by March 1, 2016. If you do not sign up by this date you may not receive one. A limited number will be available for those who sign up after this date. Post race snacks will be provided at the end of the run. You will receive two drink tickets in your race packet to be used for beer or soda. Note: Proof of age will be required for complimentary beer. Please have ID to receive a wristband. We will have volunteers checking IDs and handing out wristbands on Saturday morning. We encourage you to take care of this early so you don't have to wait to wet your whistle when you get back to the brewery. Participants under 21 will receive soda. **Drink tickets cannot be redeemed for beer-to-go, food, or merchandise! They have no cash value.

AWARDS & DOOR PRIZE:
This event will NOT be timed. The first three male and first three females to complete the 5K and cross the finish line for each route will receive a commemorative beer stein and bragging rights. Award steins will be given at 1:30 p.m. during the Bull Falls Bock Fest Kick-off. Men and women 1-2-3 finisher bib numbers will be posted on the route map board located by the overhead door in the Biergarten.

SHOWERS & LOCKERS:
Unfortunately, there are no shower or locker facilities available at the brewery for participants to use before, during, or after the race. Participants are responsible for their own belongings.

PARKING:
Please carpool if possible, and watch for direction from parking attendants in orange vests waving orange flags. Parking is on area streets and a small lot just south of the beer garden off of Genrich Street. Please avoid parking on Thomas Street. Parking will NOT be allowed in the paved lot at the brewery until all participants have finished race route (likely after 2:00 p.m.).

BULL FALLS BOCK FEST:
The Bull Falls Bock Fest will kick off at 1:00 p.m. with the traditional tapping of the Bull Falls Bock, the traditional dark bock beer. By popular demand, we have greatly expanded our beer serving area with more tap locations to cut down on refreshment service time. Beginning at 1:00 p.m., there will be music in the Biergarten by Led West. Our staff workers will also be assisting attendees who want their beer warmed and caramelized by the fire. This is an outdoor event. Dress for the weather: warm clothes and boots. As always, this is expected to be well-attended, snow or shine.

PACKET PICKUP:
Packet pickup will be available at the brewery on Thursday, March 17 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, March 18 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please bring your bib number with you to packet pickup. Bib numbers can be found on the confirmation page of the race website. Although you can pick up your packet on race day, we would appreciate if you could make arrangements to pick them up early. It gets pretty crazy on race morning. Feel free to email us at bullfallshf5K@gmail.com with questions or concerns or also to coordinate packet pickup for groups larger than 10.

RACE TIMES:
5K Honor Flight annual Run/Walk will begin at 12:00 p.m. We will be staggering the start times. Walkers are encouraged to line up in the back of the pack. Instructions and other race day information will be announced at 11:45 a.m. at the start line. Please be in the starting area prior to announcements. Course time limit is 90 minutes.

RACE ROUTE:
Restroom facilities will be near the start/finish line and in the beer garden. A water station will be located just before mile 1 and just after mile 2. There is no water station on the BOCK BUSTER route. Race turn around street is now “left onto Lincoln Ave”. See map. Po st race snacks will be located at the finish line. Strollers and baby joggers are permitted and must start at the rear of the group. Dogs are allowed on course route, provided they are on a short leash and start in the rear of the group. Unfortunately, they are not allowed in the beer garden area.
