Brew Talks Chicago: Developing Strong Brand Personalities

Michael Kiser, brand strategist

There’s an onslaught of new beer companies vying for the attention of promiscuous craft beer drinkers, so how do you stand out from the crowd?

With more than 3,000 companies all trying to earn shelf space, simply making a high-quality product and hoping consumers will take a chance is the surest way to fail in today’s crowded craft marketplace.

Long-term success for emerging craft brewers requires an enormous attention to detail, strong brand positioning, clearly defined identities and well-executed product marketing initiatives.

That’s why Brewbound is excited to have a pair of Chicago-area entrepreneurs joining Tuesday’s Brew Talks event, which will take place at the Lagunitas Brewery taproom at 5:00 P.M. CST.

Michael Kiser, a brand and portfolio strategist who has worked with a host of large and small brewers will join Solemn Oath Brewing’s co-founder and president, John Barley, in a discussion that will dissect the branding efforts of successful beer brands.

Together, the pair will explain how small brewers can develop and introduce new brands while also communicating a strong narrative and connecting with new consumers.

Designed to provide brewers, distributors and retailers with an intimate opportunity to network and learn the business of beer in craft-friendly locales, Brew Talks Chicago will also feature a special, 1-on-1 conversation with Lagunitas founder, Tony Magee.

In addition to hosting conversations with local beer industry experts, Brewbound will also be raising funds for Foundations of Music, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing music education programs to students in the Chicago Public Schools system. 100 percent of the suggested contribution proceeds ($10 – $100) will be donated to Foundations of Music.
