Sales Representative
Purpose:
The role of the Sales & Marketing Associate is to be the front line in providing industry leading service to Homegrown Distribution customers. The role will develop a high-end portfolio of alcoholic beverages with a primary focus on beer within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain contact, communication, and relationships with customers (on and off-premise)
- Execute directed programming to help obtain distribution and volume goals
- Develop customers knowledge of HGD portfolio and maintain specified frequency call goal
- Utilize and maintain sales orders and data via route accounting software (Encompass)
- Help execute key tastings, wait staff trainings, promotions, and beer dinners
- Ensure proper merchandising of customers with paper and permanent point of sale as well as helping to stock HGD product on shelves and in coolers, building displays, etc
- Monitor beer code dates of beer in trade, ensure all product is rotated and fresh
- May be responsible for accounts receivable within assigned territory
- Act as a trusted business consultant to assigned customers
- Represent HGD and brewery partners within the local community in a responsible and charitable fashion
- Monthly administrative paperwork will be required
Skills and Experience:
- Previous sales experience, beer market knowledge a plus
- Attention to detail is a must
- Above average ability to problem-solve
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Competitive in nature, wants to win
- Confident and willing to question conventional wisdom
- Enjoy a very fast paced environment and adapt to change
- Strong team player able to work across multiple functions and disciplines
Qualifications:
- Valid and clean driver license
- Passionate about beer, Certified Cicerone preferred
- Willingness to work unconventional hours
- Ability to consume responsibly
- Must currently live in Massachusetts
