Packaging and Logistics Lead

What we want:

We are looking to add a Packaging and Logistics Tech to our production team! Backpack Brands is located in the Hudson Valley in Newburgh, NY. The ideal candidate will be a mechanically minded, efficient, driven, team oriented, positive, & organized individual.

Prerequisites:

Production

• Worked on a production line and handled packout, bottling, canning etc. 
• Experience operating industrial equipment; such as forklifts, canning lines, keg washers.
• Machinery maintenance experience and ability to work with tech support and machine manuals
• Getting packaging station setup for run, building packaging materials, palletizing cans and shrink wrapping
• Doing quality control checks on packaged cider during run 

Education & Skills

• Comfortable utilizing computer systems, specifically Google Drive/ Google Docs/ Sheets/ G-Mail, etc. 
• Capable of receiving written/ oral instructions/ tasks, executing said tasks and if need be, problem solving with minimal assistance. 

Personal

• Clean and valid driver’s license, have a vehicle
• Ability to work rotating shifts and adjust schedule to meet production demands
• Dedication to meet all deadlines
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Job Tasks (include but not limited to):

• Electronic Record keeping
• Conducting daily maintenance on packaging machines
• Maintain an immaculately clean and safe work environment
• Ensure line is working efficiently and that SOPs are followed
• Working to maintain a healthy and positive work environment 
• Working on canning line packing out cases of hard cider & wine 
• Completing quality control checks on packaged cider during run
• Setup for run, building packaging materials, palletizing cans and shrink wrapping.

We offer a 45 hour work week, and every other Friday off. Compensation: $18-$22/hr

This position is a 1099 position to start but we are willing to offer a full time salaried position with benefits such as 401K, Health Reimbursement Account, PTO, Paid Holidays, Company Retreat, 3 day weekends for those who are looking to grow in the company!
