The 2017 Limited Mikkeller San Diego Beer Release Series

The 2017 Limited Mikkeller San Diego Beer Release Series will kick off at a special event on Thursday, January 12 beginning at noon until closing at 10 p.m. at Mikkeller Brewing San Diego at 9366 Cabot Drive in San Diego. Attendees will be able to purchase a limited quantity of the first in a series of 2017 new beers.
(Viking Club members will receive an invitation to an exclusive VIP event on the 11th.)

Craft beer fans attending the event will be able to taste the first three beer releases and meet internationally acclaimed brewer, Mikkel Bjergsø, as well as the rest of the Mikkeller brew team. The fresh, small batch-release beers will be available for purchase while supplies last and only at the Mikkeller San Diego tap room, where they are expected to sell out quickly. Bjergsø will also be signing cans and bottles of the new releases and copies of his book, “Mikkeller's Book of Beer.”

For those that want to be able to enjoy all the special releases without a guilty conscience, the Mikkeller Running Club will be holding a fun run starting from Mikkeller San Diego at 3 p.m. on January 12. All runners are welcome and will receive a free beer in the tasting room afterwards.

Mikkeller Brewing San Diego beer release events will be held every Saturday after that in 2017, starting on January 21, beginning at noon, with limited quantities of cans or bottles available for purchase in the tap room.

Each following Monday the beer will be available on draft in a few select bars and tap rooms in the area, and at Mikkeller locations in San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles when that location opens in February.

First Mikkeller new releases on tap for the January 12 event are:

Fruit Face – a Berliner style Weisse beer brewed with raspberries and coffee

Beer Geek Brunch – imperial oatmeal stout brewed with coffee and aged in bourbon whiskey barrels

Uklar IPA – India pale ale hop series.

“This is a perfect way for San Diegans to experience the exploratory and adventurous approach we use at Mikkeller to create unique and exciting craft beers,” said Mikkel Borg Bjergsø. “With more frequent, small brews we’re able to play with ingredients and invent a large variety of beers. And we can’t wait for craft beer drinkers to try some of the beer styles we have never made available in the United States before. It’s going to be a creative and fun year for the Mikkeller team and our fans who enjoy challenging conventional beer thoughts and styles.”
