Peaks and Pints will pour double and triple IPAs from a Western red cedar tap log.

Lumberjack Paul Bunyan worked forests that stretched for a seeming eternity in the late 19th century. He and his lumberjack posse, the Seven Axemen — all 6-feet tall sitting down — distracted themselves from isolation and danger by spinning exaggerated tales and drinking double and triple IPAs. Bunyan and his buddies loved the big IPAs because they contained more of everything that makes IPAs so popular, namely ethanol and alpha acid, the bittering component in hops.

Peaks and Pints will celebrate the drink Bunyan loved, pouring double and triple IPAs from a Western cedar log from such breweries as Fremont Brewing, Reuben’s Brews, Knee Deep Brewing, Boneyard Beer, Dogfish Head, Three Magnets Brewing, Pike Brewing, Old Schoolhouse, Port Brewing, Gigantic, Rogue and others.
