SEATTLE, WA – July 14, 2025 – Schilling Cider, a leading Pacific Northwest cidery known for innovative cider craftsmanship, announced today its $25,000 contribution to the American Cider Association's (ACA) "It's Cider's Time" capital campaign. This marks the first-ever capital campaign launched by the ACA, aimed at strengthening the cider industry's national presence and introducing cider to new audiences across America.
"Cider is having a moment—and thanks to Schilling Cider's generous gift, the American Cider Association can do even more to keep that momentum going," said ACA CEO Monica Cohen. "This is a powerful statement about what's possible when industry leaders step up and join together. Schilling’s support helps boost our work in advocacy, education, and reaching consumers, allowing us to capitalize on cider's growing popularity. We're calling on others in the cider community to join the campaign at any level—because it's cider's time, and we need everyone at the table to make it count."
The campaign seeks to raise $250,000 to support the growing demands on the ACA as the cider industry expands and consumer interest grows. Schilling Cider's substantial contribution will help fund critical initiatives, including:
- Strengthening national advocacy efforts to advance favorable policies for cider producers by hiring a dedicated lobbying partner to elevate cider's voice in state and federal policy discussions
- Expanding education programs that develop industry knowledge and skills, growing the Certified Cider Professional program by 10% annually, and launching a new restaurant education program
- Growing trade and consumer awareness to introduce cider to new markets and audiences by launching new programming for retailers, distributors, and broader beverage audiences
- Building long-term organizational sustainability and reimagining CiderCon® to increase attendance, and provide enhanced sponsorship and partnership opportunities
"We’re thrilled to partner with ACA to build a stronger cider community," expressed Colin Schilling, CEO & Co-Founder of Schilling Cider. "By supporting the ACA's efforts to expand education, advocacy, and awareness, we're helping create opportunities for all cider makers to thrive and reach new consumers who haven't yet discovered the incredible diversity and quality of American cider. Monica's leadership has been instrumental in advancing the industry, and we're proud to support her and the ACA’s continued efforts to elevate cider on the national stage."
This contribution reflects Schilling Cider's ongoing dedication to industry leadership, cider advocacy, and community growth. The company has worked since its inception to introduce cider to new audiences through crafting innovative products, educational initiatives such as National Cider Month each October, and operating two cider bars focused on education that carry more guest ciders than their own products, and partnerships that showcase the versatility and craft of cider making.
The campaign has already garnered support from industry leaders, with Schilling Cider joining fellow contributors Bauman's Cider, Portland Cider Co., Original Sin Cider, Farmhaus Cider Co., Vermont Cider Co., Humboldt Cider, and 2 Towns Ciderhouse in launching this initiative.
Schilling and the ACA encourage all industry stakeholders – from large-scale producers to small craft cideries, suppliers, and industry partners – to join the movement with contributions of any size. Both monthly and one-time donations are welcome as the campaign works toward its $250,000 goal.
