Jacksonville, FL – Today, Intuition Ale Works owner Ben Davis has announced plans to sell the brewery he founded nearly fifteen years ago. The decision comes at a time when the company is operating from a place of strength and stability, and reflects Davis’s desire to ensure the long-term growth of the brand under new leadership aligned with its values.

When I opened Intuition almost fifteen years ago, I never could have imagined what it would become. I wanted to create a brewery that brought something meaningful to my hometown and create a place where friends, families, and folks from all walks of life could come together and share the experience of drinking great local beer. I truly believe that we have achieved that.

Intuition moved to Downtown Jacksonville in 2016 after outgrowing our Riverside brewery. Our team has tripled in size, our beers are available all over the city, the taproom has become a go-to pregame spot, and The Bier Hall has helped redefine our brand by making live music a key part of who we are.

Having said all of this, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to pursue a sale of Intuition. It’s been an incredible ride, but I have taken Intuition as far as I can. We are actively seeking buyers that will maintain our company values and culture, while leading Intuition into a new era.

I’m sharing this now because I care deeply about our team and want to be as transparent as possible about the future of Intuition. The goal is for Intuition to move into its next chapter with strength and stability.

In the meantime, nothing changes. We’ll keep brewing as much beer as we can, the taproom will remain the place to be before downtown events, and we’ll continue filling The Bier Hall with live music.

I am eternally grateful for the tremendous support that Intuition has received over the years. It’s a huge point of pride for myself and our entire staff to know how much the brand means to so many people in this city. And please don’t forget to always DRINK LOCAL.

Davis emphasized that operations would continue as normal while discussions with potential buyers are ongoing. The company is seeking a buyer that will preserve the brewery’s creative identity, local roots, and commitment to community engagement.

Founded in 2010, Intuition Ale Works was one of the first craft breweries in Jacksonville and has played a key role in shaping the city’s beer culture. The move mirrors a broader generational shift among pioneering craft brewers, many of whom are now looking for the right partners to carry their brands forward.

About Intuition Ale Works:

Intuition Ale Works is a Jacksonville-based craft brewery that was established in 2010 on King St. in Riverside. Two years later, Intuition became the first craft brewery in the state of Florida to can its beers. In September 2016, Intuition completed a large expansion project, relocating to a state of the art brewing facility and taproom on Bay Street in downtown Jacksonville.
