Upland Brewing Company Announces New Beers to Support Philanthropic Organizations

Upland Brewing Company, Indiana’s third-largest craft brewery, is announcing a new line of beers that will support philanthropic initiatives throughout Indiana and beyond. Once per quarter, Upland Brewing Company will release a private label beer benefiting one organization. The first release, Bob-O Beer, will benefit the Indiana Special Olympics, with a portion of proceeds going to support the organization in honor of Bob Fiscus, part of Upland Brewing Company’s production team. Bob is a multi-sport Special Olympic athlete who has competed in basketball, bowling, swimming, softball, golf and volleyball. 

“Bob is a special part of the Upland Brewing Company team, and we were thinking about an upcoming 10-year anniversary he had with us when we got the idea of creating a beer to celebrate him and something he’s passionate about: Special Olympics,” said Samantha Marr, VP of Sales and Marketing for Upland Brewing Company. “This started a larger conversation about how we can use small batch beers to uplift and support organizations that mean a lot to our team members. We’re excited to roll out more in the future.” 

Bob-O Beer is a Vienna Lager. Four packs of 16-ounce cans of Bob-O Beer will be sold exclusively at all Upland locations through the end of March. A second beer benefiting another philanthropic organization will be launched later this Spring. 

“I'm honored to have my name on a beer. And I'm really appreciative that it will contribute to Special Olympics,” said Fiscus. 

“Bob-O is an incredible and dedicated member of the Upland team, and I am honored to work with him and this release by donating money to the Special Olympics showing that we are all in this together and it takes all people to make a team succeed,” said Danny McFarland, Warehousing and Logistics at Upland Brewing Company. 

Bob has competed in Special Olympics events on behalf of Indiana since he’s worked for Upland Brewing Company. In 2024, he was named Special Olympics Athlete of the Year for District 7 which covers Monroe County.
