FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Corvallis, Ore. — November 15, 2024

In celebration of National Philanthropy Day, we're thrilled to announce that last night, 2 Towns Ciderhouse was honored as the Benton Community Foundation’s 2024 Outstanding Philanthropic Business of the Year. This award, presented annually, celebrates a business that shows extraordinary dedication to supporting local organizations and uplifting the community.

President and CEO of the Benton Community Foundation, Chris Quaka shares, “Donating time, expertise, and energy is at the heart of giving back to our community. Local businesses in particular can have a significant impact on the ability of nonprofit organizations to deliver their critical missions.  It is our distinct honor to recognize 2 Towns Ciderhouse for their outstanding commitment to bettering our community and showing what a difference compassionate action can make.”

Ever since its inception in 2010, 2 Towns Ciderhouse has been a cornerstone of philanthropic support in the community. Through ongoing involvement in local initiatives, the company has made a lasting impact by providing financial contributions, product donations, and volunteer support. In 2023 alone, 2 Towns Ciderhouse donated cash, products, and merchandise to over 85 organizations, underscoring its dedication to making a difference in the community.

Lee Larsen, co-founder and CEO, shares, “While we take pride in crafting award-winning beverages, our mission extends beyond just making cider. We believe in sharing our growth and success with the community that makes it all possible. Caring for our employees and giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do. We’re all in this together.”

Community Programs Supported by 2 Towns Ciderhouse

  • Harvest Party: 2 Towns’ annual Harvest Party serves as both a celebration and a fundraiser for local nonprofits. With thousands of attendees each year, the event has raised significant funds for local causes over the last 14 years.
  • Environmental Initiatives: Through a partnership with One Tree Planted, 2 Towns helped plant 400 trees across the West Coast this year. The company also supports local environmental organizations, including the Corvallis Environmental Center and Friends of Trees. Many 2 Towns employees actively participate in ecological causes and habitat restoration efforts; for instance, the company’s safety specialist organizes river cleanup efforts in partnership with the Deschutes River Alliance.
  • Fighting for a Cure: The F*Cancer campaign empowers people to honor loved ones affected by cancer by printing their names on a 2 Towns product in exchange for a donation to a cancer-fighting charity of their choice. Additionally, 2 Towns sponsors events like Kickin’ Cancer and supports the Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation.
  • Local Initiatives: Recognizing the importance of community involvement in enriching the local cultural landscape, 2 Towns Ciderhouse partners with events such as the Philomath Frolic and the Benton County Rodeo. The company is also a long-standing supporter of the Majestic Theater and the Corvallis Knights.
  • Supporting Local Entrepreneurs: 2 Towns maintains an active partnership with Moku Chocolate, a socially responsible chocolate company based in Philomath, Oregon. Together, they created a limited-release cider, Chocolate Marionberry, and hold educational workshops at the 2 Towns Taproom to raise awareness of social issues in the chocolate industry.

For many 2 Towns employees, their first experience with the company was through its charitable work. Giving back is integral to the company’s mission and its culture. Being honored with the Outstanding Philanthropic Business Award reaffirms 2 Towns Ciderhouse's commitment to making a positive impact, one donation, event, and organization at a time.

About 2 Towns Ciderhouse2 Towns Ciderhouse was founded on the belief that the long history of cidermaking demands respect and deserves to be done right. Starting with the highest quality, whole ingredients from local farms, we take no shortcuts in crafting our ciders. Over the years our company has retained these core values to branch out into different segments within the alcohol beverage space to become a premium total beverage company. Our goal is to create the best craft beverages on the market and continue to develop and evolve the beverage space in innovative new ways. From humble beginnings in 2010 in an old 900 sq. ft. 2 car garage we have grown into one of the largest craft beverage companies in the Northwest now employing over 100 individuals, distributing to 15+ states and running 3 different production facilities totaling almost 100,000 sq. feet. As a family-owned company, we are committed to the growth of our team and the enrichment of our communities. We take pride in producing true Northwest craft beverages.
