Brewbound’s Startup Brewery Challenge has a new name.
Up-and-coming brands from across the brewing industry will take the Brewbound Live stage on November 27th and 28th in Santa Monica, California, to compete in the reimagined Pitch Slam competition, sponsored by Craft Brew Alliance. Here’s what’s new.
The business pitch competition has expanded into a two-day experience that gives 15 companies an opportunity to participate in a curated half-day education session with respected beer industry veterans.
“In addition to opening up the competition to more cider, FMB and alcoholic kombucha brands, the Brewbound Pitch Slam will also give participants a chance to dive deep into the issues that many early-stage brewing companies are encountering during this crowded and competitive time,” Brewbound editor Chris Furnari said.
Pitch Slam, along with a lecture-style crash course, gives participants a head start on the conference discussion as they meet with experts and judges while honing their pitches on day one of the show.
After an opening round of elevator pitches, five finalists will be selected by a panel of expert judges to present on the Brewbound Live main stage.
On day two, the five brands will have four minutes to deliver their pitches and sample their brews while making a lasting impression on the judges. A three minute question-and-answer session will follow each pitch.
Respected industry veterans — including investors, brand owners, distributors, retailers, and consultants — will judge the finalists as engaged attendees and thousands of livestream viewers follow along with anticipation.
Exposure for participating companies begins with the initial semi-finalist announcement, continues throughout the competition and culminates with written and video content that will permanently live on Brewbound.com.
Emerging brands will gain recognition within the industry, receive actionable advice, and get feedback on brand, taste and business models from experts. Pitch Slam puts participants in the spotlight at the two-day Brewbound Live conference, and gives competitors an opportunity to share their story with hundreds of industry attendees.
To get a taste of the previous competition, past pitches are available to view on Brewbound’s YouTube channel.
