Supply Chain Coordinator 

Location: Almanac Beer Co – Alameda, CA

Hours: Full-Time, Salary

Compensation: $70k-$80k+ DOE + full Almanac benefits

Reports to: VP of Operations

Position Overview:

The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the flow of materials and finished goods across Almanac’s internal and contract-production operations as well as our various retail locations. Working closely with the VP of Operations and Production Manager, this position translates sales forecasts, production plans and department purchasing requests into timely purchase orders, material availability, accurate ERP records and wholesale shipments. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with broad visibility across purchasing, inventory, production, packaging, warehousing and wholesale fulfillment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Procurement

  • Maintain established inventory pars and translate approved forecasts and department requests into timely purchase orders.
  • Forecast and procure packaging materials and supplies required to support production and packaging schedules.
  • Create, maintain and track purchase orders from approval through delivery.
  • Monitor vendor pricing, lead times and performance; recommend alternative suppliers when appropriate.
  • Match purchase orders, receipts and invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors and department managers.
  • Coordinate taproom purchasing requests for merchandise, retail supplies and operating materials.

Inventory & Logistics Oversight

  • Maintain accurate ERP inventory records for packaging materials, supplies, contract-produced beer and finished goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages, excess inventory and potential obsolescence.
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries, taproom transfers, wholesale shipments and other product movements.
  • Communicate receiving, transfer and shipment requirements to the Production Manager and Warehouse and Operations team.
  • Anticipate material and scheduling conflicts and escalate risks before they affect production or customer orders.
  • Coordinate regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.

Production & Packaging Logistics

  • Translate wholesale demand and sales commitments into required packaging and finished-goods completion dates.
  • Confirm that cans, ends, labels, trays, cartons and other packaging materials are available before scheduled packaging runs.
  • Communicate required completion dates to the Production Manager and monitor finished-goods readiness.
  • Coordinate shipment timing among Production, Sales, Hospitality, Operations and wholesale partners.
  • Escalate material shortages or timing risks that could prevent on-time fulfillment.

Contract Production 

  • Create and maintain purchase orders, outsourced production records and related ERP transactions for contract-produced beer.
  • Coordinate materials, packaging requirements and production timing with contract-production partners.
  • Record finished-goods receipts and reconcile production quantities, materials and inventory
  • Track contract-produced inventory and coordinate shipment timing with wholesale partners.

Wholesale Operations 

  • Partner with the VP of Operations to maintain wholesale projections and translate approved forecasts into purchasing, packaging and fulfillment requirements.
  • Create and coordinate monthly sales orders with wholesale partners.
  • Allocate available finished goods to approved orders and coordinate shipment timing.
  • Maintain accurate item, purchasing, inventory and order records in NetSuite/Crafted ERP.
  • Follow and recommend improvements to purchasing, inventory and fulfillment SOPs.
  • Analyze inventory and fulfillment data to identify potential waste, shortages and process improvements.

Ideal Traits:

  • Experience with beverage packaging materials, including cans, ends, labels, trays, cartons, and printed packaging, strongly preferred.
  • Strong sense of ownership with a hands-on, collaborative mindset
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with experience managing purchasing cycles and inventory systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate across multiple departments
  • Familiar with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), vendor management, and demand planning
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment with shifting priorities
