BREWER POSITION SUMMARY
The ideal candidate should have a deep passion for producing consistently high-quality beer and be eager to learn, demonstrate a great work ethic, a positive attitude and a desire to be part of the No-Li Brewhouse team. The primary responsibilities of this position include all aspects of brewing beer; from milling in of raw ingredients to wort production and transfer; daily tank management and cleaning of the brewhouse and cellar; dry-hopping and yeast pitching; general cellar work and all other aspects of turning raw ingredients into beer ready for packaging.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Brewing on our two and three vessel, 30-barrel brewhouses
- Performing cellar operations including monitoring gravities and fermentation temperatures
- Yeast handling/propagation
- CIP (brew house, fermenters, brite tanks)
- Sensory evaluation
- Basic lab duties including cell counting with a hemocytometer
- A strong commitment to maintaining a sanitary, clean and safe brewing and cellar environment
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Two or more years of proven production brewing experience, preferably in operations that produce 10,000+ BBLs/year.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving work environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Lab experience and familiarity with related measurement equipment is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, stand for the duration of a shift, lift 55 pounds, and maneuver 300 pounds repeatedly. Requires proper handling of hazardous materials and operation of complex machinery.
