Kings County Brewers Collective (KCBC) is looking to hire an expert communicator who is highly organized and generally awesome to serve as our Assistant Taproom Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your primary focus will be to assist our KCBC Taproom + Operations Manager with daily and weekly responsibilities. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our Taproom feels welcoming and comfortable, and that collectively our staff creates an experience that encourages guests to stay longer and return. The shifts will be a mix of hands-on bartending, administrative duties, operations assistance, and facilities support. Duties will include::


  • Hospitality & Customer Service 
  • Deliver high-quality customer service while bartending in the KCBC Taproom
  • Engage with customers to ensure a positive guest experience
  • Foster a strong hospitality culture that reflects KCBC standards
  • Assist with taproom music curation and atmosphere
  • Oversee staff performance and service flow during shifts
  • Ensure other bar staff have the tools and resources needed to provide excellent service (beer quality comprehension, accurate menu information, functioning equipment, etc)
  • Assist with create and manage staff training materials (new hire and ongoing training)
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve hospitality standards and guest experience
  • Maintain daily side work for bar staff and ensure shift task lists are completed
  • Maintain and update Taproom menus, as needed
  • Track sales performance compared to last year and the previous month
  • Review weekly and monthly sales performance with management
  • Develop action plans to address sales deficiencies and improve performance
  • Ordering, Inventory & Operations
  • Place beer orders twice weekly and ensure that coolers are fully stocked and all anticipated Taproom beer needs are accounted for, while ensure inventory is up-to-date and accurate. 
  • Manage bi-weekly ordering for wine, spirits, and other beverages
  • Manage bi-weekly snack ordering
  • Adhere to and help manage monthly budgets for operational supplies and service materials
  • Assist in monthly general supply ordering, including:
  • Merchandise
  • Glassware
  • Office supplies
  • Signage
  • Other operational materials
  •  Facilities & Maintenance
  • Oversee weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Coordinate monthly deep cleaning and maintenance projects
  • Manage basic equipment maintenance schedules, including:
  • Glycol chiller
  • Cold box
  • To-go refrigerator
  • Back bar refrigerator
  • HVAC systems
  • Bathroom ventilation
  • Lighting
  • Events & Marketing
  • Support and execute initiatives directed by the Taproom Manager
  • Assist in planning and coordinating along with the Taproom Manager monthly taproom events, including:
  • Pop-up food vendors
  • Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly recurring events (Trivia, Art Night, etc.)


 REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years experience in a similar role is helpful but not required. Leadership experience and ability is extremely important.
  • Must maintain clear, daily, in-person communication with Taproom staff
  • Must have exceptional people-skills, both with staff and customers.
  • Must be available to work full shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, ongoing. 
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision?
  • Must be meticulously organized and punctual, with outstanding multi-tasking, communication and time management skills
  • Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, lift and and move up to 165 pounds with assistance (full ½ bbl keg). 
  • Must have basic computer skills and aptitude, specifically working with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Experience with Slack and Ekos Brewery Management software is a plus.?
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.?
  • Must be awesomely passionate about craft beer!. 


BENEFITS

This is a full-time hourly position, 35-40 hours per week. The job may occasionally require weekend, late-night, and holiday work. Overtime pay (1.5x base rate, per hour) will apply for any additional hours worked beyond 40 hrs. per week. 


All staff receive:

  • 10 days paid time off (hours accrued weekly and can be used after 60 day probationary period (max 80 hours / yr)
  • 5 days sick leave (max 40 hours / yr)
