We are looking to find a new teammate to help us in an aggressive growth phase. We are currently renovating a second brewery and will need to staff up. Moniker is heavily lager focused but this second 3.5bbl location is specifically going to allow us to focus on several off styles to round out our entire portfolio. If you are interested in making a variety of old world and experimental beers this is your opportunity. This position is an hourly position for executing and/or assisting in day to day brewery operations with strong potential to grow and expand responsibilities. The best candidate is a person with background experience in brewery operations, however, a strong desire to learn and willingness to work hard could warrant consideration with no prior experience. The assistant brewer will report directly to our director of operations and will be actively involved in all facets of the day-to-day operation. Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting brewing team with brewing related issues, projects
Receiving raw ingredients
Milling
Basic brewhouse operation
Quality assurance
Cellar work including beer transfer, and carbonation
Operating keg washer
Cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of brewhouse equipment and cellars
Sanitizing of tanks, hardware, hoses, etc
Proper handling of chemicals required for sanitization and cleaning of equipment
Understanding and practicing all internal safety standards
Working off premise events i.e. beer festivals
Delivering kegs to accounts
Requirements:
Strong work ethic
Ability to work both independently and within a team, with minimal supervision
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
Ability to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, and climb ladders
Ability to regularly lift/carry heavy supplies, like bags of grain and kegs of beer
Ability to work in a brewery environment which may be loud, slick, humid, and hot and cold
Passion for all things Craft Beer with a focus on the local community
Comfortable working with chemicals and willingness to adhere to safety, environmental and brewhouse standards at all times
Good troubleshooting skills, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
Good written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience at a brewery as an assistant brewer, brewer, or cellarperson is preferred but not required
Degree or background in biology, chemistry, or engineering is a bonus but not required
