Warehouse and Packaging Assistant

The Warehouse & Packaging Assistant supports brewery operations by assisting with beer packaging, warehouse organization, inventory handling, and general production support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly. This position is fast-paced and physically demanding in a swamp cooled environment. Once trained and proficient in these areas, continual training opportunities will be provided on cellar work and brewing tasks.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Transportation and organization of raw materials, packaging supplies, and brewing equipment between off-site storage warehouse and production facility
• Daily forklift operating following safety protocols for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move goods between facilities
•  Assist with picking and loading orders
• Maintain paperwork for orders, transfers, and inventory transactions with 100% accuracy
• Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation (FIFO)
• Clean, inspect, and fill kegs using aseptic techniques to the proper weights
• Perform keg washing/CIP processes to sanitation standards
• Inspect kegs for defects and ensure proper labeling and recording
• Assist with packaging set up, breakdown, and off-packing from canning line and other ancillary equipment
• Assist in all pre- and post-packaging operations including case building, labeling, bottle waxing, package filling, and palletizing of finished goods
• Logging of all brewing related records in paper logs, spreadsheets, and production software
• Maintain and clean draft lines on a weekly basis
• Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse and cold storage area
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience: Previous experience in a brewery is not required. 
• Compensation will be based on experience.
• Attention to Detail: Focus ensuring the consistency of quantity/counts of the beer being packaged, recorded, and inventoried.
• Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and solve problems quickly and effectively is necessary in a fast-paced brewery environment.
• Team Player: Ability to be self-motivated, work effectively as part of a team, and communicate clearly.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Organization and Time Management: This position requires the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work methodically to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced brewery environment.
• Passion for Craft Beer: A genuine passion for craft beer and a desire to learn and grow within the industry is highly valued.
• Flexibility with Schedule: Ability to work full-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for data entry, inventory management, and operating brewing software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Clean driving record
• Ability to stand for 10-12 hours a day
• Ability to regularly lift or carry 60 pounds above waist
• Ability to move 165 lbs using proper equipment
• Ability to maneuver large equipment such as pallet jack and forklift
• Ability to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel and climb ladders and stairs
• Ability to manipulate valves and clamps
• Ability to work with hazardous mechanical equipment
• Ability to handle hazardous chemicals and materials
• Ability to work in hot, wet, and/or cold conditions
• Must be at least 21 years or older
