Position: Brewer/Cellar I
Reports to: Production Manager
Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Rate: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
At Drake's Brewing Co. the Brewer/Cellar I position is responsible for the full cycle production of beer, from hot side production of wort/beer, through fermentation, to packaging of product, including all aspects of quality and sanitation. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with their hands to create delicious beer while maintaining an optimistic, can-do attitude.
Job Responsibilities/Main Functions/Main Tasks:
? Producing wort on 60bbl, 15bbl brewhouse under general supervision
? Cleaning (CIP) and sanitizing (SIP) on brewhouse and other work spaces
? Pitching and performing other yeast management
? Capping and crashing tanks
? Performing dry hops, yeast drops, and harvests
? Adding finings and other process aids to beer in tank
? Carbonating beer for packaging
? Racking beer into kegs
? Taking all necessary lab samples
? Staying up-to-date on brewhouse and cellar works in progress, knowing the age, gravity and status of each tank.
? Completing all necessary recordkeeping accurately and timely
? Performing all tasks according to SOP
? Performing all necessary recordkeeping
? Maintaining a clean working environment, including cleaning tank exteriors, parts, floors, walls, etc.
? Adhering to all safety regulations at all times
? Stay in communication with other production staff and management
? Other tasks as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? High School Diploma or equivalent
? Basic understanding of beer production from brewing to packaging
? Minimum 2 years of experience in a production brewery environment with minimum 1 year of packaging experience
? 21 years of age or more
? Strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
? Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
? Basic computer skills (word processing, email, Google Docs)
? Good organizational skills
? Ability to follow complex instructions to a high level of detail and precision
? Committed to workplace safety
? Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, and to participate in company events
? Positive, get-it-done attitude and a passion for beer
