Black & Brew will replace White Ale, just one year after Boston Beer Co. made the decision to return it to the mixed pack.
Black & Brew is a dark stout that combines roasted coffee with the traditional flavors of a rich, full bodied stout. To achieve authentic coffee notes, the brewers use 1.5 pounds of Sumatran coffee beans per barrel, added late in the brewing process to provide the most flavor possible. This brew finishes with underlying roasty notes of chocolate, caramel, and dark fruit from a select blend of malts.
Black & Brew checks in a 5.8 percent ABV and is brewed with East Kent Goldings hops, two-row Harrington, Caramel 60, Special B and roasted barley malts.
The new brew will accompany Boston Lager, Winter Lager, Chocolate Bock, Old Fezziwig Ale and Holiday Porter in the variety pack which will be available beginning in November for a suggested retail price of $13.99 per 12-pack.
