A Pitch Competition for Beer & Beyond
The Brewbound Pitch Slam returns this year to the Brewbound Live stage on November 30th and December 1st. The 13th edition of the business pitch competition is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and build awareness for startups within the beer, cider, hard seltzer, alcoholic kombucha, and canned cocktail segments. We encourage a wide range of products from a diverse pool of entrepreneurs. The competition will be livestreamed on Brewbound.com and Brewbound's social platforms, reaching thousands of beer industry professionals watching online from home. It will also feature live audience voting during the semi-final round.

Semfinals on Day 1
The morning of day one, up to 12 semi-finalists take part in the opening round of back-to-back pitches. Each pitch is only 2 minutes with immediate feedback from the judges. Six finalists are chosen by the judges at the end of the day to continue to the finals.
Finals on Day 2
Finalists have five minutes to deliver their pitches, followed by four-minute Q&A sessions with the judges. Participants provide two different product samples, one to be tasted prior to the competition and one during, that the judges evaluate.
The Grand Prize
The champion receives an industry awareness advertising package with Brewbound and free registration to Brewbound Live Winter 2022. They'll also be interviewed live on Brewbound.com and receive their own engraved trophy.

While there are no costs associated with applying for the Pitch Slam, participants must be registered attendees of the Brewbound Live conference.

Thomas Bleigh is the Innovation Brewmaster for Craft Brew Alliance where he leads a team of Innovation brewers to create new products, explore new ingredients and engage in brewing Research & Development. Tom was born in Augsburg, Germany and is a graduate of UC Davis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and the University of Wisconsin with an Master of Fine Arts. A 16 year Craft Beer industry veteran, Tom’s interests are in meats, cheese and kimchi in addition to “Pursuit of the Perfect Pint!”

Sinead Carey is the Director of Sales for Specialty Beer & Beverage at Wine Warehouse. She joined Wine Warehouse in 2016 in a leadership role that includes overseeing a team of craft beer specialists, working with supplier partners on planning, market execution, and collaborating with Wine Warehouse Sales Teams to drive performance behind the beer category. With over 18 years of successful experience working in the beer industry, Sinead has held roles in sales, distributor management, channel management, and trade marketing with Star Brand Imports, Heineken USA and Anchor Brewing. She is an Irish native and a graduate of Trinity College Dublin. She is Cicerone Certified Beer Server and lists lagers and hazy IPAs as her favorite styles of beer.

Day Bracey is proudly from Braddock Beach, along the Monongahela River. He has toured the country as a comedian, been immortalized in the Smithsonian as co-host of the Drinking Partners podcast, helped showcase new and established talent as the Standup Director for Pittsburgh Comedy Festival, bridged gaps & made history as the co-founder of America's first Black brew festival Fresh Fest, added to the cacophony of voices in the beer industry with his column Day Drinking in The Pittsburgh Current, & is co-producer of one of Pittsburgh's longest running stand-up comedy series "A Night of EPIC Comedy."

Ryan is a Principal at Arlington Capital Advisors, a boutique investment banking firm focused on beverage, restaurant, cannabis and franchise businesses. Ryan has over 15 years of experience with beverage companies and 20 years of investment banking and commercial banking experience and has sourced, structured and negotiated transactions for beverage brands, suppliers, importers and distributors. The team at Arlington has successfully completed over $6 billion worth of transactions for beverage clients.

Oceania Eagan is the Founder and Creative Director of Blindtiger Design, a creative agency specializing in the unique needs of the craft beverage industry. Bringing an unmatched depth of knowledge from her 15+ years immersed in the industry, she has built and grown successful brands that connect with today's consumer. Oce has found success by focusing on the uniqueness of each brand to elevate, define and launch products across on- and off-premise channels. Prior to founding Blindtiger, she served as the Chief Design Officer at Taphandles, building and leading the creative operations for over a decade. Her experience also includes 3 years in Central Washington University's Craft Brewing Program, teaching the Sales, Marketing and Business of Beer course.

Marty helped build two well-known field teams from scratch during stints with both Oskar Blues Brewery and Ninkasi Brewing Co. Founder of E3 Craft Strategies, he consulted with craft brewers on branding, annual business plans, core competencies, and responsibilities within sales, supply chain, key account operations, and marketing. Going on his forth year, Marty instructs a course on sales and distribution for Portland State university in their Beer Business certificate program. Today, Marty leads a team of regional sales directors at Brew Pipeline, focusing on innovative revenue generation for breweries, retailers and distributors.
