Brew Talks to Discuss the Rapidly Evolving Beer Industry
Brewbound and Dogfish Head will host the next Brew Talks Virtual event on Thursday, May 13 at 3 p.m. ET on Brewbound.com.
The first Brew Talks of 2021 will reconvene several panelists from its April 2020 discussion to gain perspective on how these businesses are faring one year later and what the path forward is for the industry.
Brew Talks, Brewbound's industry meetup, is presented by Dogfish Head. The free event series give beer professionals an opportunity to engage in honest conversations about the state of the beer industry.

Sam is a 2016 James Beard Award recipient was named one of Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People in Business. The Wall Street Journal has called Sam "a Pioneer of bizarre brews."

Mr. Burwick was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Boston Beer in April 2018. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Peet's Coffee & Tea, Inc., a specialty coffee and tea company based in Emeryville, California, since December 2012. From April 2010 to December 2012, Mr. Burwick served as President, North America of WW International, Inc., formerly Weight Watchers International, Inc. (NYSE: WW), a leading provider of weight management services based in New York City. Prior to that, Mr. Burwick held numerous positions with PepsiCo, Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP), headquartered in Purchase, New York, including Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo Americas Beverages from August 2008 to August 2009; Executive Vice President, Marketing, Sales and R&D, PepsiCo International from April 2008 to July 2008; President, Pepsi-QTG Canada from January 2006 to March 2008; Chief Marketing Officer, Pepsi-Cola North America from June 2002 to December 2005; and various marketing roles from 1989 to 2002. Mr. Burwick has also served on Boston Beer’s Board of Directors since May 2005.

Ed is Chief Operating Officer of Manhattan Beer Distributors, one of the largest beer and most respected distributors in the United States. Based in Bronx, NY, Manhattan Beer employs over 1,800 associates and delivers to more than 25,000 customers. Annual volume is over 45 million case-equivalents and revenue exceeds one billion dollars a year. In 2016, Manhattan Beer Distributors was named Wholesaler of the Year by Beverage Industry. Prior to joining Manhattan Beer, Ed was President of Sales and Distributor Operations for MillerCoors. Over the span of 21 years in the brewing industry, he held a number of different roles of increasing responsibility for the Coors Brewing Company, Molson Coors and MillerCoors. He began his career directly out of college with Procter and Gamble in sales. Ed graduated from Northwood University, where he was senior class valedictorian and academic athlete of the year. He is still actively involved with the university, sitting on the board of trustees and, in 2018, received Northwood’s highest honor, Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa. Ed splits time between Manhattan and Hilton Head Island and is married (Ann) and together they have two adult children (Katie and Matt).

Amy Gutierrez, a native Northern Californian, started her Beverage career, with Southern Wine & Spirits. The last two years at SWS, she was the BevMo! Category Captain, where she helped open 19 stores. She joined BevMo! in 1997, in the same role and then transitioned to Assistant Buyer for Food and Hardlines. Amy has always had a passion for beer, and in 2003 was promoted to the Assistant Buyer for beer. Then four years later, was promoted to her current position as Category Manager for Beer. She is responsible for all beer buying in 161 stores, in three states.
