Brewbound Portland, ME – Recap Part 2

Shipyard Wall

Shipyard Wall

3 PM – Shipyard Brewing

After Allagash everyone piled back onto the bus and we headed to the waterfront to make our final two stops of the day. The first was Shipyard Brewing!

Our visit to Shipyard was a bit different than Allagash, instead of a tour of their facility we watched a 15 minute video on their brewery. Little know fact: Did you know that Shipyard bottles a lot more beer than just Shipyard? At their Portland location they also contract brew for Peak Organic, Gritty McDuffs and many more!
Shipyard Tasting Room

After the video we all joined Ben(our Shipyard Captain for the hour) inside the tasting room. Picture a bar hidden inside of a coastal tourist attraction! After sampling Shipyard Export, IPA, Brown Ale and Shipyard Summer everyone headed back to the main hall to watch Jeff play his third set of the day.

Since our visit to Shipyard they are now offering full tours of their brewery on Tuesday nights. These tours must be booked in advance but if their gift shop/tasting bar/hall is just the start then it’s highly suggested that you schedule the full tour!
