Woodchuck Hard Cider Honors Cancer-Support Organizations

Woodchuck Cider LogoMIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The Vermont Hard Cider Company LLC, maker of Woodchuck Hard Cider, is thrilled to announce an addition to our lineup of handcrafted ciders. Woodchuck Pink is the latest in our Private Reserve line of innovative ciders. Beyond its great crisp apple taste, Pink brings recognition to the efforts of some local Vermonters.

Dragonheart Vermont is a breast cancer survivor and support organization based in our home state. Dragonheart successfully started the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival in 2006 to raise money for cancer related non-profits.

Due to the success of the festival, Dragonheart Vermont decided to create a non-profit called Survivorship NOW. It’s an organization committed to helping people after their cancer diagnosis and treatment. They offer wellness programs and classes based around nutrition, exercise, yoga, art, and writing. It also serves as a common meeting place for survivors to find support.

Woodchuck Pink was crafted to honor and create awareness for this great effort. A monetary donation of $50,000 was also made to further the programs of Survivorship NOW.

“Woodchuck takes great pride in the work it does within the Vermont community,” said President and CEO Bret Williams. “We want to make an investment that will foster a brighter and stronger state of mind amongst our neighbors. We proudly make this donation to Dragonheart‘s Survivorship NOW knowing it will directly benefit cancer survivors in our community.”

Woodchuck Hard Cider’s donation will help to keep the wellness programs of Survivorship NOW free to all cancer survivors in our Vermont community,” said Dragonheart Board Member Linda Dyer. “And, free for many survivors, is the difference of being able to participate in the classes or not. It is another example of our Vermont community pulling together to help one another and we truly appreciate it.”

Woodchuck Private Reserve Pink is delicate in body yet full of crisp apple taste. The liquid actually has a pink hue from a grape skin extract used during the cider making process. It is 5.5% ABV, has a suggested retail of $10.99 for a six pack, and is available across the country.

We hope everybody will join us in honoring the efforts of Survivorship NOW!
