San Diego, CA – In the first collaboration of its kind, Thorn Street Brewery has teamed up with Jetty Extracts, a leader in the cannabis industry, to bring craft beer drinkers something completely new. OG HighPA Session IPA, 4.20% ABV is juicy, dank and delicious. The process of creating this beer is rooted in the science of terpenes, which are the compounds in both cannabis and beer hops that give them their unique smells.
Although there is no THC in this beer, the extract gives it a distinct nose that is highly recognizable and plays off of the grass and pine flavors in the hop blend. OG HighPA is already receiving a lot of attention, either by selling out in bars within hours of tapping the keg, or through the national media like Craft Brew News and Cannabis Now magazine.
“We love experimenting with new flavors and aromas and being on the cutting edge of craft beer. Beer is all about how it tastes, though, and the flavors from the extract really blend well with the hops.” Brew Master and Co-Owner, Eric O’Connor, said. “It’s a subtle flavor and the smell is unmistakable without being overpowering.”
OG HighPA will be available seasonally as a spring and summer beer. You can find it at the tasting room at Thorn Street Brewery as well as bars and restaurants throughout San Diego County, with a wider release expected later this summer.

This session IPA has pine and grapefruit notes and is brewed with Mosaic, Citra, and Columbus hops. There is a special aroma and flavor from essential oils provided by Jetty Extracts that is best described as ‘sticky’.
