Sonoma Spring Brewing Company to Release Sottile Red

SONOMA, Calif. – Sonoma Springs Brewing Company plans its annual Sottile Red release party on November 11 to mark the anniversary of the three-alarm blaze that torched the back of its home on Riverside Drive. The event takes place from 1pm to 6pm in the Sonoma Springs parking lot and taproom. The event is free to attend with proceeds going to benefit Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association.

This event, from its inception in September 2015, has raised funds for the Sonoma Firefighters Association. It commemorates the response led by the Sonoma Fire Department to put out a major fire in our building back in November 2014, which imperiled the completion of our current brewing facility. This years’ event will provide the community with an opportunity to thank all our local firefighter and first responder heroes who will undoubtedly appreciate such praise after the events of the past two weeks.

“The past two weeks have been harrowing for everyone in our home county of Sonoma as well as adjacent counties,” said Derek Drennan, Partner. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to those directly impacted by this event, along with those whose lives have been disrupted by the dangers that will persist until the fires are out. Our heartfelt thanks go out first and foremost to the first responders and local authorities working 24/7 to protect lives and property in Sonoma, Napa, Solano, and other counties across the state.”

Sottile Red, a super-limited release created in collaboration with the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association, is a double red ale brewed with Simcoe and Citra hops for a unique citrus flavored finish. Sonoma Springs will be releasing the beer at a release party Saturday, November 11 in their parking lot and taproom with food and live music. Acoustic Beatles cover band Rubber Soul will play music. Beer, brats and merchandise will be for sale at the event.

Proceeds from the sale of this special brew, until it sells out, will benefit the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association.
“While this partnership stemmed from a tragedy, we appreciate all the local support, especially the past few weeks,” said Captain Tom Deely, president of Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters Association. “We love this event and we hope the community will join us. It’s the local businesses like Sonoma Springs and individuals in our community who make Sonoma such a great place to serve and protect.”

Sonoma Springs Brewing Company is also joining Natalie and Vinnie Cilurzo, Co-founders of Russian River Brewing Company, and many other brewers from across the state and nation to raise funds for local fire relief efforts. Sonoma Springs is partnering with Alpha Acid Brewing to brew a very special unfiltered IPA this Friday named Valor.

“We are super excited to brew this beer with a specially made yeast donated by GigaYeast and boatloads of Galaxy and Motueka hops,” said Drennan. “Like all other Sonoma Pride beers, proceeds will go to benefit victims of the wild fires in Northern California. Give thanks to the brave men and women from across the globe who showed great Valor in helping our communities during the fires.”
