North Coast Brewing Announces Appointment of Three Division Sales Managers

Doug Moody, Senior Vice President of Sales announced the appointment of three division sales managers for the North Coast Brewing sales team. These new positions, effective immediately, are part of a restructuring plan for the company. The appointees – Joshua Charlton, Dennis Keller and John Barabas – are veterans of the North Coast Brewing sales force and proven leaders with a clear understanding of the goals and priorities of North Coast Brewing.

Joshua Charlton is the California Division Sales Director with over 20 years of experience in the beer industry. Fresh out of college, his first job in 1994 was a truck driver for Morris Distributing where he worked his way up to On Premise Sales Manager. Over the next 10 years Charlton held sales management positions for Anderson Valley Brewing and Paulaner NA. He founded Pacific Libations in 2004, a specialty beer broker for California and Nevada that helped build such brands as North Coast Brewing, Ommegang, Duvel, Triple Karmeliet, Young’s and Eel River. In August, 2011, Josh became a regional sales manager for North Coast Brewing, in charge of sales and distribution for Northern California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. His new California Division Director appointment makes him responsible for the area that accounts for 49% of all North Coast Brewing sales.

John Barabas is the Eastern Division Sales Director, a territory that includes all states east of the Mississippi. With over 26 years of experience in the specialty beer business, John is considered one of the original pioneers of the craft beer movement in Chicago. For the past nine years he has been the owner of Paramount Merchants, Inc., a specialty beer broker in the Midwest. From 2000 to 2005 he was the On-premise Sales Manager for Union Beverage Company Chicago where he developed craft beer brands including Bells’s, Sierra Nevada and Goose Island. He also worked for five years at Summit Brewing as a marketing manager and at International Brands Chicago in sales.

Dennis Keller, International and Western Division Sales Director, has a 27 year career in the beer industry working for Paulaner North America, managing all aspects of the business for distributors in the western US, Alaska and Hawaii, for Star Brand Imports, a member of the Heineken Family, and for Paulaner/Paulaner Hacker Pschorr USA where he was vice president of sales for the central region. From September 2009 through May 2011 Dennis was an independent broker for Pacific Libations, representing North Coast Brewing and other US and international brands. In June, 2011 he became a regional sales manager for North Coast Brewing. In his new position he is responsible for all the states west of the Mississippi and accounts in Europe, Mexico, South America, Australia and Asia.
