New Holland Brewing Co. — maker of the popular Dragon’s Milk bourbon barrel stout series and Mad Hatter IPA — will begin distributing in the Pacific Northwest next month.

Columbia Distributing will distribute the Michigan-based brewery’s beer throughout Oregon and Washington, according a press release.

“The Pacific Northwest and beer have a great story together already so we’re excited to throw Dragon’s Milk into the mix,” New Holland co-founder and president Brett VanderKamp said in the release. “It’s a natural fit, and we’ve had many requests from fans to bring our products to this market, especially since we poured at the Oregon Brewer’s Festival this past year.”

New Holland, which produced 35,760 barrels of beer in 2015, according to Brewers Association records, is now sold in 34 states.

“It’s a natural match,” New Holland director of sales operations Joel Armato said in the release. “They have a method to bring our brand to retail that is customer minded and methodical, we’re a brand that takes a personal approach and they’re extending that to an entire market of informed and mature drinkers. Shared values are the key to a beautiful partnership.”

New Holland underwent an image makeover in 2015, refreshing the look of its packaging and changing the recipe for Mad Hatter IPA as well adding several new markets. The company expanded into Dallas, Baltimore, Las Vegas and South Dakota, while changing wholesale partners in a number of other markets. New Holland also recently entered the California and Alabama markets.

The brewery expects to produce upwards of 40,000 barrels in 2016, according to a Columbia Distributing spokeswoman.
