PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Narragansett Beer declares that summer has come early with the highly anticipated rerelease of quintessential Rhode Island mash up, Narragansett Del’s Shandy and seasonal staple, Narragansett Summer Ale. The return of two warm weather favorites brings a welcome taste of summertime after a long, cold winter.

After making a splash with its initial release last May, ‘Gansett’s popular and refreshing Del’s Shandy is back, offering a thirst-quenching  mix of Narragansett’s award-winning lager and the tart lemon extract from the iconic Del’s Frozen Lemonade. As part of the “Hi Neighbor Mash Up” series, Del’s Shandy sent ‘Gansett fans into a frenzy last summer, with the initial production run selling out in just days. This year, Narragansett has increased production of the sought-after beer so shandy fans will be able to get their fill all spring and summer long.

Alongside Del’s Shandy, Narragansett is also rolling out Summer Ale, Beer Advocate’s highest rated summer ale available in New England.* The distinctive light session ale made with two row pale malt, citra, galaxy and Chinook hops provides aromas of citrus and passion fruit without overwhelming the taste buds. At only 24 IBUs and 4.2 percent ABV, the esteemed seasonal brew has plenty of flavors to keep you wanting more. The crisp golden ale is the perfect, easy-drinking accompaniment to any summer adventure—whether it’s night or day, beach or backyard.

“We’re ready to let summer begin by rereleasing Del’s Shandy and  our top notch Summer Ale after the record-breaking winter we had this year in New England,” said Mark Hellendrung, president of Narragansett Beer. “The response to Del’s Shandy last year was so unbelievable that this year, in addition to making the brew more widely available, we also have a few surprises in the works that will really blow Del’s Shandy fans away, so stay tuned!”

Narragansett Del’s Shandy is brewed under the supervision of award-winning Brewmaster Sean Larkin and provides strong citrus refreshment backed by just enough sweet malt to keep it balanced. The 4.7 percent ABV Narragansett Del’s Shandy will be available in six packs of 16-ounce tallboy cans ($8.99-$9.99 SRP) and for the first time, 12 packs of 12-ounce cans ($13.99-$14.99 SRP). Along with Narragansett Summer Ale (also priced at $8.99-$9.99 per six-pack), Del’s Shandy will be distributed throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., North Carolina, and Portland, Ore. The timing and availability of Del’s Shandy and Summer Ale will vary per market. Both beers will be available alongside classic Narragansett Lager, offering refreshment #AllSummerLong.
