Purpose of Position: 

The primary objective of the position is to effectively supervise and direct the assigned Key Account sales team in attaining sales and distribution goals, assisting in the planning and organization of day-to-day business and development and execution of plans to ensure continued growth and company profitability. 


Position Demands:

  • Requires knowledge of sales and merchandising techniques
  • Must be knowledgeable in ABC regulations
  • Must have strong organizational skills and maintain thorough records and documentation of assigned team
  • Requires proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, and occasionally reach, bend, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds.

Principal and Basic Duties:

  • Monitor and evaluate the activities of assigned sales representatives
  • Schedule and execute monthly ride-along schedule with assigned sales team
  • Train assigned team in sales techniques and record keeping requirements
  • Identify potential problems and take preventative measures
  • Conduct weekly/monthly department review meetings updating sales, distribution, and overall performance
  • Track and monitor monthly business objectives (MBO) of assigned team; audit and verify results before submission
  • Recruit, interview, and train new employees
  • Responsible for regular contact with key account decision making personnel
  • Lead, coach, and develop assigned sales representatives and assist on their route as needed. 
  • Participate, when necessary, in special events held in or out of our service area
  • Understand accounts receivable and work with accounting department to minimize outstanding receivables and prevent uncollectible accounts
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts
  • Must Possess valid CA driver license with a clean driving record
  • 3 - 5 years of experience managing on-premise and off-premise sales
  • Food & Beverage experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Cicerone Certification preferred
  • Experience selling Craft Beer and Spirits preferred
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts
  • Must Possess valid CA driver license with a clean driving record

 Working Relationships:

  • Reports to: Director of Sales
  • Supervises: Assigned team (Sales Representatives)
  • Internal Contacts: All company personnel
  • External Contacts: Suppliers, Key Accounts
