  • Lead the brewing team and uphold the quality, consistency, and production requirements for all Sprecher products
  • Work towards achieving departmental goals around efficiencies, yields and cost
  • Follow brewing and cellaring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Manage, train and provide feedback to the brewing team and ensure a safe and effective work environment
  • Maintain a clean work environment through Clean in Place (CIP) procedures and general housekeeping practices
  • Participate in the daily testing and analysis of raw materials, in stage and final products to ensure proper specifications are met and of the highest quality
  • Work with plant manager, operations team and supply chain to forecast and create a production brewing schedule and facilitate any process or equipment changes necessary
  • Complete necessary production paperwork
  • Receive raw materials and track inventory
  • Have a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency, while constantly evaluating work practices in the spirit of continuous improvement
  • Perform preventative maintenance based on established schedules, ensuring that daily, weekly, and annual maintenance is performed
  • Maintain a vigilant attention to detail

 Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Production, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in a production brewing environment
  • Completion of brewing class or coursework or higher education in science / engineering relatable to brewing is a plus
  • Previous supervision/manager experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of practices, methods, tools and equipment used in production brewing
  • Extensive knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with work
  • Understanding of food safety, workplace safety, and food quality
  • Ability to perform all essential functions and physical demands of the position
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floors and ability to continuously be active including but not limited to: walking, stooping, bending, reaching and crouching
  • Must have the ability to work in a non-temperature controlled environment, handling of hazardous materials, and operation of complex and heavy machinery
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally 75 lbs
