The Brewer reports directly to the Head Brewer and is responsible for all tasks related to the production of JuneShine Hard Kombucha, including but not limited to:

  • Proficient in all aspects of hard kombucha production including, but not limited to:
    • Equipment operation per standard operating procedures
    • Physical brewing and cellaring: Hot-side brew, scoby pitching, transfers, yeast pitching, juicing/spicing, centrifuging, pasteurizing, carbonating
    • CIP/Sanitize/Passivate fermentation and conditioning vessels, manual and CIP skid
    • Basic equipment maintenance 
    • Basic lab and QC checks (DOs, cell counts, plato, pH readings)
    • Brewery cleanliness and organization 
    • Assists packaging and warehouse where necessary
  • Brewer data collection and administrative work
    • Complete all brew sheet required fields 
    • CIP log completion 
    • Ekos completion 
  • Daily sustainability practices
    • Baling
    • Waste management 
  • Meets and exceeds all safety standards
  • Meets and exceeds all quality standards

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
  • Must be able to work a 3/12 or 4/10 alternative workweek schedule; four-day work week, ten-hour shift schedule or three-day work week, twelve-hour shift
  • Minimum of two years brewing or advanced cellar work equivalent experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Related brewery specific software) preferred
  • General maintenance skills preferred
  • Able to lift and carry at least 55 pounds
  • Able to work on feet for extended periods of time
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company

Compensation: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
