The ideal candidate is expected to apply expertise in knowledge of consumers (how they buy, criteria for buying) into Sales channel, driving demand and visibility of Dry Dock. This position will report to Company Owners and work closely with other departments.  They will direct and manage Beer Sails Representatives to ensure all marketing initiatives are intentional, strategic, and leveraged to deliver ROI.

Responsibilities include:

  • Senior Sales Leadership:
    • Set and represent the standard of excellence in sales, leadership, and management, for the sales organization and other brewery managers.
        • Own and represent the Sales Department and communication of conditions, trends, analysis, action plans and needs to other managers.
        • Act as department’s loudest advocate and toughest critic to constantly strive for nothing short of excellence.
        • Develop and implement Annual Business Plan for the company and each distributor partner.
      • Distributor Development:
        • Direct distributor focus and execution as primary communicator and business manager of distributors.
        • Conduct Monthly Business Reviews.
        • Forecast all orders by working closely with Production Manager.
        • Oversee orders and direct inventory management of all distributor partners.
        • Communicate with distributors on all team efforts and results.
      • People Development:
        • Oversee development plans and professional growth for all direct reports.
        • Budget management of all direct reports.
        • Lead the primary communication of all brewery priorities, standards, goals, objectives, supporting & education materials to the Beer Sails Representatives.
      • Market Development:
        • Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing.
          • Grow share of mind and market share in accounts.
          • Act as the “Face of the Brewery”, with communication and interaction with distributors, retailers, and consumers.
          • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key accounts in territory.
          • Develop, communicate, ensure, and enforce brand standards.
          • Operate within all assigned budget and resource parameters. Build and align budgets and spending plans.
        • National Account Development:
          • Build, maintain and develop strong working relationships with national accounts at all necessary levels.
          • Create and execute all national account programming and opportunities. 
          • Develop and deliver presentations.  Communicate using analytics and trend data as appropriate.

        Qualifications and Experience:

        • 4+ years of excellence in brewery or distributor sales/sales management. Must have excellent working knowledge and demonstration of skills relating to distributor process, national accounts, achieving results, market analytics, inventory management, market trends, retail execution, forecasting, and budgeting.
        • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Business or Marketing preferred.
        • Proven ability to manage, lead, and develop people.
        • Core competencies: business acumen, communication proficiency, presentation skills, results driven, strategic thinking, and technical capacity.
        • Excellent verbal communication, including negotiation, public speaking and presentation skills.
        • Proven experience with analyzing data such as VIP, IRI, Nielson, Encompass, etc.
        • Positive attitude in communications with coworkers, chain contacts and wholesaler partners.
        • Proven call and follow up skills.
        • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
        • Computer savvy: experienced with Google Docs and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
        • Strong understanding of how national accounts operate and how to build brands through wholesalers.
        • Chain store wholesale experience a plus.
        • Capable of analyzing information and assembling presentations for buyers.
        • Travel is required to reach outlying markets.
        • Some weekend and night work required for events and promotions.
