Kane Brewing Company is a fast growing and award-winning production brewery located on the coast of New Jersey in Ocean Township. We are looking for a Barrel Cellar Person to join our Field & Oak team (Our Spontaneous and Saison Beer Project).
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in brewing and preparation for Field & Oak coolship and saison batches
- Barrel maintenance & inspection - including swelling and leak repair
- Maintain cleanliness of Field & Oak barrel warehouse including mopping and pressure washing
- Perform monthly barrel inventories, barrel checks and creation of barrel tags for new batches
- Maintain strict separation of Kane and Field & Oak brewery cellars with mindfulness of cross-contamination risks
- Elite attention to detail, following SOPs and Checklists to ensure safety and consistent production of top tier product
- Ability to drive to pick up fruit from our farmer partners in NJ
- Processing of fruit, spices, and hops
- Safe barrel movement and stacking via forklift with barrels ranging from 225l-600l
- Detailed record keeping for barrel racking, fruiting, adjuncting and blending
- CIP/Sani/Purge of tanks, coolship, packaging equipment and barrel racking lines
- Barrel purging, filling, and racking
- Barrel cleaning and sulfuring with pressure washing assembly
- Bottling via 6 head gravity filler including manual corking, capping, and labeling
- Assist as needed with Kane clean barrel program and adjuncting, cellaring, packaging, and pilot system brewing
Qualities candidates will meet the following requirements:

- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong interest in wine and spirits to draw inspiration for new barrel acquisitions or techniques
- Culinary interest for both fruited & spiced sours as well as BA adjunct beers
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in a production/packaging brewery
- Knowledge of various brewing practices
Must be able to:
- Lift 55 lbs. and move 165 lbs. occasionally
- Operate a forklift and complex machinery
- Work in a non-temperature controlled environment
