Job Summary:

Successfully execute all aspects of production at Harland Brewing Co. per production needs as scheduled including raw materials handling, wort production, cellar movements, wood cellaring and beer finishing. Contribute to a healthy team culture by maintaining a positive attitude, professionalism and company vision and values.


Your day-to-day:

  • Execute proper sampling and analysis of daily brews in accordance with schedule. Monitor vital wort indicators including but not limited to target gravity, pH.
  • Responsible for wort production on two different Premier Stainless Brewhouses including but not limited to raw material handling, milling, mash/lauter operation, wort boiling, cooling, and BH CIP 
  • Responsible for CIP and preparation of fermentation, bright beer, and intermediate step tanks 
  • Responsible for finished beer handling including but not limited to carbonation, DO monitoring and recording, and packaging preparation 
  • Responsible for proper handling of yeast propagation including but not limited to inoculation, pitching, topping, aeration and CIP 
  • Review completed process paperwork and ensure accurate expression in automated accounting system i.e. Ekos
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment 
  • Ensure that sensory evaluation is monitored responsibly and results are communicated constructively 
  • Work closely with Head Brewer and peer staff to execute and pass off tasks effectively 
  • Maintain a sanitary environment, which includes but not limited to cleaning floors, walls, tanks and ceilings. 
  • Participate in company events as needed while maintaining professional composure  
  • Be a team player and able to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Follow all Safety Program guidelines
  • Other tasks may be assigned as needed


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial production brewery experience
  • Able to operate a forklift and pallet jack
  • Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a love for craft beer
  • Thorough attention to detail and desire to take initiatives
  • Must adhere to company’s policies and procedures
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods
  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs
  • Able to manipulate valves and clamps
  • Able to read and follow written instructions
  • Able to regularly lift/carry 44-pound boxes
  • Able to regularly lift/carry 55-pound bags above waist level
  • Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
  • Able to lift/move 165 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
  • Able to proficiently stack and move barrels on barrel racks
  • Able to comply with safe chemical handling procedures, including personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
  • Able to both work and thrive in a high-stress environment that has a quiet to moderate noise level
  • Able to safely navigate the tasting room and snack bar areas, including crowded spaces
  • Able to work in a factory/production environment which may be loud, slick, humid, cold, hot
  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
  • Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
