Kings County Brewers Collective (KCBC) is looking to hire an experienced, organized, and generally awesome person to serve as our Forklift Operator / Beer Wrangler. Your primary focus will be to assist our Logistics Captain with the shipping, receiving, storage, and general management of our product (beer), our ingredients, and our supplies.
You will be responsible for building and palletizing loads for distribution, loading and unloading trucks, counting inventory, warehouse & brewery cleanliness, and general organization. Duties will include:
Assisting with the preparation, distribution, inventory & shipping of all KCBC beer
Pulling & palletizing orders, scanning kegs, & counting inventory
Coordinate shipments & pick-ups of KCBC beer to external distributors and other parties, in conjunction with KCBC Sales Team.
Work with packaging team & external parties to ensure that kegs & cases are properly prepped and palletized
Track outgoing and incoming kegs via Keg ID program in Ekos Brewmaster
Assist with the ordering, inventory, shipping and receiving of goods & materials coming into and going out of the KCBC brewery & storage warehouse, including:
Brewing supplies (malt, hops, yeast, fruit, etc)
Packaging supplies (cans, case trays, kegs, collars, etc.)
Packaged beer (kegs & cases)
Other general purpose supplies
Liaise with KCBC Production team to help manage brewing ingredients & other production specific supplies, as needed
Assist with the organization, maintenance, cleaning & general up-keep of the physical spaces at both 381 and 374 Troutman St., including:
Storage spaces & pallet shelving
Floors, roofs, windows, walls, facades, etc.
Assist with management of equipment and utilities, including:
Doors & locks
Other miscellaneous duties, as needed
Previous experience in a similar role is helpful but not required.
Must be able to operate a forklift
Must be able to calculate basic math operations, and maintain routine paperwork.
Must be able to strictly follow operations requirements and standard operating procedures
Must be able to work in a non-temperature controlled environment, properly handle hazardous materials, and operate complex machinery.
Must possess high quality standards and be able to work effectively, efficiently and safely without direct supervision
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must be meticulously organized and punctual, with outstanding time management skills
Must be HIGHLY focused on cleanliness and proper sanitation
This is a labor-intensive, highly-physical position. Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, stand for the duration of a shift, shovel hot grain, lift 55+ pounds repeatedly, operate a forklift, safely handle hot and cold liquids, safely handle cleaning/sanitizing chemicals, and safely handle oak barrels.
Must have basic computer skills and aptitude, specifically working with Microsoft Office and Google Apps. Experience with Ekos Brewery Management software is a plus.
Must pass pre-employment background check
Must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Must be awesomely passionate about craft beer!
This is a full-time hourly position (40 hours per week) and may occasionally require weekend, late-night, and holiday work. Overtime pay (1.5x base rate, per hour) will apply for any additional hours worked.
All staff receive:
80 hours paid time off (hours accrued weekly and can be used after 60 day probationary period (max 80 hours / yr)
5 days sick leave (max 40 hours / yr)
6 paid holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day)
