About the job

We need a talented Lead Brewer when it comes to craft brewing. You’ll co-manage a small and dynamic brewing team and be responsible for implementing positive training standards with a focus on safety, culture and organisational development.

You’ll also need to work closely with other departments to provide accurate info and updates on brewing performance so we can keep both our forecast and schedule as efficient as possible.


Responsibilities/duties (include but are not restricted to):

  • Ability to operate a 5 vessel automated BrauKon brewhouse (so preferable BrewMaxx/Proleit experience and Obeer/SAP or other relevant ERP) as well as supervising production from grain to glass.

  • Cellar work, incl. massive dry hopping, centrifugation, yeast management and QC operations within brewing

  • The delivery of the day-to-day operation of a Production Schedule, as outlined by the Head Brewer
  • Working closely with the Head Brewer to oversee all safety, quality, day-to-day production aspects and production planning
  • Managing the brewing team to achieve scheduled product KPIs

    and deadlines

  • Diligence in abiding by quality standards and recipe requirements

  • Accurately entering all required data into brewery management

    software

  • Assist in continual improvement, development and implementation

  • Ensuring that all safety measures and procedures are met and respected

  • Bringing experience and best practice knowledge to the company in order to improve brewery processes and procedures

  • Working closely with the Head Brewer, 4 other brewers and other department leaders to fulfil business demand, drive efficiency and produce high quality finished product

  • Active brewing activities on the brewery floor, in addition to team leadership responsibilities

  • Maintaining brewery production equipment to a high standard of organisation and cleanliness in close cooperation with the maintenance staff

  • Ensuring good communication, promoting positive culture and relationships across our company and supplier base

  • Representing the brand at all times, both inside and outside the brewery. You will engage directly with our customers and community both in the venue and in trade

  • Attending and working at promotional activities such as beer festivals and events where it make sense work-life balance wise

Job requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years previous production brewing experience as a technical brewer in a commercial brewery
  • Experience with production planning, monitoring and forecasting inventory levels
  • Experience as a senior brewer responsible for managing production efficiency
  • IBD Diploma or equivalent technical qualifications
  • The ability to work autonomously in a diverse environment
  • Extreme attention to detail, as well as a relentless pursuit of brewing incredible beer
  • A willingness to roll up your sleeves, be a team player and deliver results
  • A good understanding of recipe development
  • Great communication skills
  • Forklift licence preferred
  • Valid driver licence
  • Ability to rotating between morning and afternoon shift when/if needed


Physical Requirements:

  • Standing/walking for longer periods of time
  • Ability to move heavy materials
  • Routine pushing, pulling, climbing, lifting, grasping, reaching, etc.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and noise environments (protective gear is obviously provided)
