Kings County Brewers Collective (KCBC) is looking to hire an experienced, organized, and generally awesome person to serve as our Taproom Manager. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast growing brewery in Brooklyn (just under 4 years old) and contribute directly to its growth and success. 


JOB OVERVIEW

As our Taproom Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the customer taproom experience. This experience is THE most important interaction that our brand has with consumers, and it is critical that we deliver top-notch hospitality & customer service for each and every person who walks through our doors. You are the ultimate KCBC brand ambassador. 


Your goals are:


  • To ensure that all taproom guests have the best possible experience at KCBC

  • To maximize sales & revenue

  • To continuously optimize taproom operations  


  • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Act as Team Leader / Manager for all KCBC beertender staff

      • Assign & manage beertending shifts / schedules 

      • Ensure all beertenders are properly trained and supported in all aspects of serving draft beer and delivering top-notch customer service

      • Ensure that beertenders maintain an appropriate taproom environment (temperature, music, signage, cleanliness, conduct, etc.)

      • Step in as beertender to fill shift(s), if needed  

      • Manage draft, beer-to-go & merchandise sales

      • Oversee interviewing, hiring and terminating of beertender staff, as needed

    • Manage Square POS system, including: setting up new items, cash deposits, credit card reconciliation, etc. 

    • Ensure the Taproom is prepared for daily service

      • Printed menus

      • Untappd & BeerMenus 

      • Menu board beer signs

      • Restocking / reordering supplies

      • Manage draft system and troubleshoot, as needed.

      • Manage keg inventory to ensure that we are always pouring the freshest beer possible and maximizing overall sales

      • Oversee draft line cleaning & maintenance

    • Manage any/all Taproom special events

    • Manage relationships with food pop-ups and local establishments who are able to deliver to the taproom 

    • Maintain accurate inventory of glassware, merch, supplies, etc. 

    • Oversee the cleaning, organization and maintenance of physical taproom space, including: bar, tables, stools, back bar, glassware, sinks, bathrooms, floors, menus, menu board, bulletin board, outdoor sign boards, barrel racks, doors, windows, front sidewalk, etc.

    • Manage and respond to outside communication via email, social media, etc., as needed

    • Occasional social media posting and management for KCBC brand, as needed

    • Monitor & report to ownership any relevant customer purchasing trends, category sales, overall revenue & profit margins to ensure the company is on track to meet or exceed goals.

    • Under current pandemic restrictions, you may also be required to manage & oversee other direct-to-consumer sales (e.g., UPS shipping, home delivery, etc)


    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 2+ years experience in a beverage hospitality management role

    • Strong knowledge of craft beer

    • Must be an excellent communicator

    • Must be meticulously organized and punctual, with outstanding time management skills?

    • Must possess high quality standards and be able to work effectively and efficiently with or without direct supervision?

    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The job may also require occasional travel to and participation in festivals and beer related events?

    • Must have basic computer skills and aptitude, specifically working with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Experience with Slack, Square POS and Ekos Brewery Management software is a plus.

    • Must pass pre-employment background check?

    • Must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.?

    • Must be awesomely passionate about craft beer!


    BENEFITS

    This is a full-time salaried position and will occasionally require weekend, late-night, and holiday work. 


    All staff receive:

    • 80 hours paid time off (hours accrued weekly and can be used after 60 day probationary period (max 80 hours / yr)

    • 5 days sick leave (max 40 hours / yr)

    • 6 paid holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day)

    • Medical, Dental, Vision benefits after 60 days of employment. *50% of Oscar Silver plan paid by KCBC, 50% paid by employee

    KCBC is a 15-bbl craft brewery and taproom located in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The company is owned and operated by a trio of brewers who have joined forces to create a wide variety of well-balanced, high-quality beers—including crushable lagers, hoppy IPAs, exotic sours, traditional styles, and more.
