This position will join a locally-owned and growing company that was born out of a passion for thoughtfully and excellently produced food and beer, social and environmental sustainability, strong local partnerships, and generously giving back to our community.
First established in 2008 as a community-oriented brewpub, Block 15 has grown to include four locations: a restaurant and pub brewery, a production brewery and tap room, a distribution company, and sibling restaurant Caves Bier & Kitchen.
About this Position:
Block 15 is currently seeking a Controller to join our team. The Controller is responsible for the management of the accounting operations of the Company and acts as an advisor to the President, CEO, and executive management team by providing accurate financial information and reports. This position requires a team player with keen attention to detail who takes pride in producing quality work. The right candidate will be extremely well organized, be enthusiastic, have strong computer and communication skills, and embrace the core values and attitude of the company. The Controller will oversee and effectively manage a complex accounting system in an evolving, fun, fast-paced, and multi-faceted company.

Duties & Responsibilities
Direct the company’s overall accounting functions, including all financial reporting, cash management and internal policies and procedures
Oversee and assist in all operations of the accounting team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Perform month-end close accurately and efficiently
Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review monthly, quarterly, and annually
Provide meaningful information to drive business improvements
Facilitate and streamline the convergence of different POS data into our SAP ERP financial software
Provide guidance to managers from all departments to ensure accurate accounting procedures within their day-to-day systems
Act as an advisor and support to the President, CEO, and executive management team by providing financial analysis, planning, and budget control
Maintain documented system of accounting policies and operations
Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles
Required Skills & Abilities
Proficient in GL accounting software
Proficient in MS Office and Google Sheets
Ability to multitask on action items and projects
Impeccable attention to detail
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and readily adapt to change
Positive attitude and teamwork mentality
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Highly developed organizational and time management skills
Ability to take direction and work independently
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
3 years of cost accounting experience
5 or more years experience in financial accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment, including accounting management
Experience with Orchestra Software
Active CPA certificate preferred
Passion for locally owned and operated organizations with strong ties to their community
