Golden State Cider is seeking a Packaging Shift Supervisor in our Healdsburg production facility.

General Responsibilities:

Supervises day-to-day packaging operations, trains and supervises all packaging staff
Follows and maintains team adherence to SOPs to meet product specifications, and evaluates for continuous improvement
Works with Plant Manager in setting budgeted pace goals, optimizing efficiency metrics, and optimizing space usage
Responsible for scheduling packaging staff shifts and setting breaks for packaging staff
Communicates and oversees execution of internal product movement with a focus on forward planning and accuracy
Uses production software to generate and enter completed daily packaging logs
Assists in the implementation of safety programs, and strives to advance good safety practices facility-wide
On call availability as needed for issues that may arise during all packaging shifts, including nights and weekends

Understands mechanics and operation of all packaging equipment, especially: mechanics of double seam technology, seamer operation, adjusting and optimizing seam specifications, and is proficient in troubleshooting all equipment, and trains staff on these principles
Understands and uses production software to collect, report, and communicate data
Maintains all materials specifications sheets, and ensures quality materials are being used to produce quality double seams
Understands mechanics and maintenance of kegs, manages keg maintenance log, and collaborates with maintenance to keep all kegs operational
Works with Plant Manager to schedule and implement packaging equipment preventative maintenance (PM) schedule, and manages spare parts inventory

Oversees the execution of pre-packaging run QA/QC protocols and troubleshoots associated variables
Collects data and prepares production KPI reports, including: QA/QC metrics, scrap material loss, liquid product loss, downtime lost, production pace budget, and workforce allocations to meet CQI Initiatives
Monitors in-run specifications daily on product quality, seam quality, and all consumable materials quality
Collects and maintains archived Packaging Reports for compliance and data analysis purposes
Collaborates on CQI initiatives, and implements related practices and programs

Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of experience in a related packaging environment, especially in a cidery, brewery, or winery setting, with 2 year of experience supervising or leading a team
Direct canning line supervision experience preferred
A.S. Degree in applied mechanical science or 8 years of work-related experience.
Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and ability to learn additional production management programs necessary.
Forklift Certification and proven ability to safely operate a forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack
Ability to work flexible shifts, including extended hours and overtime as needed
Excellent communication skills, with experience supervising employees in a manufacturing setting
Ability to operate independently, or as a leader or member of a team
Strong reading, writing, and mathematical skills, as well as mechanical aptitude required
Strong and proven work ethic, and ability to multi-task workload
