JOB TITLE: Creative & Content Manager

REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: As a key member of the Marketing department, this position is responsible for leading the development, design, execution and monitoring of all things related to creative, content and messaging, through multiple paid, owned and earned channels. This position is responsible for developing a comprehensive creative and content strategy for the organization, in addition to providing leadership and managing the creative and content development teams. They will use their expertise and guidance to make sure the team works together like a well-oiled machine – understanding our audiences and creating exciting, relevant pieces that drive brand awareness, engagement, loyalty and sales.

•Works closely with members of the Marketing team to understand the marketing objectives and translate that into clear creative and content strategies and initiatives, while ensuring ideas and concepts align with that strategy.

•Develops and executes a plan for how we will reach our audience and customers and tell our story across all touchpoints: packaging, advertising, PR, sponsorships, digital, social, print, out-of-home, at point of purchase, and sales brochures/materials.

•Ensures all creative content is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, quality, message and tone of voice, and optimized for the user experience for all channels.

•Establishes and manages the processes, tools, best practices and workflows for requesting, creating, editing/proofing, launching, and retiring creative content.

•Reports out project priorities, timelines/milestones, and success criteria. Prioritizes projects and aligns resources to deliver maximum impact from each initiative.

Works closely with internal partners from other departments to understand their needs as it relates to creative content, turn technical knowledge into content, and develops materials and solutions to meet them.

•Develops, monitors and reports out annual and quarterly goals and KPI’s for themselves and their teams.

•Researches, recommends and liaises to outside/contract agencies and vendors and coordinates projects to meet specific success criteria and budget parameters.

•Participates in and leads specific creative and marketing activities, such as brainstorming and conceptualization sessions.

•Creates and maintains brand and messaging standards and guidelines to be used internally and externally and ensures the brand integrity is maintained across all touchpoints.

•Builds and drives our buyer’s journey across the entire path to purchase and creates content for each step along that journey, as it relates to the 3 tiers of the beer industry (brewer, distributor and retailer).

•Responsible for managing day to day activities of a team of communications, content development, and creative professionals, ensuring that the right structure, personnel, processes and tools are in place to meet the organization’s needs and objectives.

•Provide leadership, give direction, assign and review work, and provide feedback and guidance to the team.

•Mentor team members in their day-to-day activities and professional development.

•Is responsible for managing the proofing and accuracy of all materials created by the team.

•Keeps informed of trends in marketing, creative, content, and consumer attitudes and behaviors, and identifies areas of impact and opportunity.

•Ensures that timely, informative, and effective communication takes place between the team and internal/external partners and clients, and provides them with the highest level of customer and creative service.

•Works closely with the Compliance, Sales and Marketing teams to ensure adherence to all MLCC and other state regulatory standards.

•Assists with ongoing Marketing projects.

•Additional duties may be assigned as necessary

•Exceptional leadership skills and experience coaching and developing teams in multichannel communication and creative content development, design, and execution.

•Experience leading both long-form and real-time (immediate) project workflow and managing the creative and content process from ideation to completion.

•Proven ability to take strategic insights and market data, and turn them into powerful  creative and content ideas that deliver business results.

•Ability to clearly articulate the business goal behind initiatives and creations of a piece (or series) of content, communications or branding. •Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up strategic recommendations.

•Strong project and time management skills with a proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.

•Demonstrated understanding of creative and content trends, technology and tools.

•Needs to be continually learning the latest platforms, technology tools and marketing solutions.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present and defend creative and strategic decisions to peers, stakeholders, and executives.

•Comfortable addressing diverse groups. •An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards who will positively represent Bell’s Brewery both internally and externally.

•Flexibility and adaptability to work in fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities.

•Must have exceptional attention to detail and follow through, as well as the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

•Ability to positively absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and clients.

•Efficient at working on short turnaround projects. 


•Bachelor degree in Advertising, Design, Marketing, Mass Communications or a related field and equivalent work experience. Master’s degree a plus.•At least 5+ years’ experience leading creative or content development teams. •Customer-centric, imaginative, and conceptual storyteller who pushes creative boundaries without sacrificing business objectives.•Experience bringing integrated marketing campaigns to life and providing proven business results across multiple paid, owned and earned touchpoints. •Familiar with major business and creative and digital content applications.

•Strong understanding of web analytics tools, social media marketing applications and leading social media monitoring platforms.

•An exceptional eye for visual aesthetics with a strong ability to curate impactful visual and written content.•Moderate level of craft beer knowledge or appreciation.

•The ability to travel via car or airplane on an occasional basis.
