POSITION OVERVIEW

Mass. Bay Brewing Company (MBBC), parent company of Harpoon, UFO, Clown Shoes, Arctic Summer and City Roots, is seeking a National Accounts Manager who will be responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with a specific list of Small Format retailers in the Northeast. In these 15-20 retailers, the National Accounts Manager will represent the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company. Additionally, this individual will assist other National Accounts Managers with up to 10 of our largest grocery retailers, focusing on store and regional-level activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing select retailers in convenience & drug store channels primarily in the Northeast region, and working locally/regionally with our top grocery retailers
  • Working with VP, National Accounts to develop and achieve annual goals while remaining on budget
  • Focusing on achieving distribution goals of core MBBC packages
  • Developing creative programming to drive ad/feature activity
  • Aligning efforts with MBBC's Regional Sales Managers to ensure program execution
  • Developing strong relationships with retail buyers, district managers, store managers and distributor chain managers
  • Effectively communicating the entire MBBC portfolio to retailers and distributors
  • Maintaining consistent, effective communication with internal stakeholders, retailers and distributors
  • Strong ability to follow up on key initiatives discussed during meetings
  • Providing recaps to VP, National Accounts after all buyer meetings
  • Ability to incorporate IRI/Nielsen & VIP insights into effective solutions-based retailer presentations

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in alcoholic beverage sales, preferably national accounts experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing, sales or management preferred
  • Must possess high levels of energy and self-motivation
  • Willingness to spend 75% of time on road for retailer and distributor meetings
  • Valid and clean driver's license
  • Organized, self-disciplined, detail-oriented and sociable
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in an independent working environment
